SEPTEMBER 5TH is just around the corner. The day after Labor day.
Just a friendly reminder.
The primary reason we're trying to stick to this deadline is to give the submission team a chance make their selections and then to give Joy a chance to edit and then the rest of us a chance to get the finished product posted for purchase all in time for Christmas. This is all very doable at this point but if there are any major delays we might not make it.
I'm not doing all that well at this point. I have about 70% of my story completed. I plan a full re write on or before Labor Day. Hopefully I'll get some time in the next couple of weeks to get my first draft completed.

Leave the heavy lifting to Joy or ask for an extension. You have options and we would miss your addition, however I understand if you can't make it happen this time. I'm having some difficulty myself with the deadline looming in the next couple of weeks. We'll work it out.

Sorry if there was any confusion guys. SEPTEMBER 5th is correct. There still next week and the Labor Day holiday to get the final work done. As always extensions are possible so don't hesitate to let the submission team know you need a little more time. We need to get as much of this stuff to Joy for editing as soon as possible.

AG, since you've been gone a while I guess you missed out on all of the Anthology stuff. The Kevin's Watch Anthology is a collection of short stories and poems written by watch members and published on a vanity press for everyone to buy. The first Anthology turned out very well with some very entertaining stories and the book itself is very professional, edited by our own Dragonlilly. Anthology II is nearing the deadline for submissions. If you have a story written or can devote the time to writing one in the next week or so I'd like to see it. If you want more details have a look at the submission guidlines post.

Don't forget people that if you need an extension on the deadline to flick me a PM. If you haven't submitted or asked for an extension by September 9...
You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.
In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.
He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

We have a 3 day weekend (which I intend to use to finish if possible) though I'm running slower than I thought and may need an extension so ask for one if you need one CJ. If VS grants it you have nothing to lose and I for one would like your story to be included.

Thanks Tom. It's unlikely I'm going to be able to finish it though. Inspiration (for want of a less self-aggrandising term) operates on its own timetable rather than popping up when I have some free time. Essentially, I've written somewhere in the region of 5000-8000 words, and I estimate the story would weigh in at around 30,000.
I'll see what happens over the weekend. You never know.
Well I hope you make it CJ. I had a breakthrough last night. I now believe I will be able to devote my time this weekend to a re write instead of simply stumbling to a first draft finish next tuesday.
