Bon Cop Bad Cop

Post by Usivius »

This is a Canadain film, so it probably won't hit theatres south of the border, but I saw a preview of it and it looks hilarious!
Anyone heard anything about this?
It's a cop-buddie movie, where a body has been found straddling the border of ONtario and Quebec. A cop from each province is assigned to the case as duristiction is in question. From there it is a Lethal Weapon type thing with action and comedy where the top cops have to solve a serieal killer case involveing the murders of hockey players (sheesh, can we BE more Canadian...)

I'm going to see it on Monday.

I'll check in then...

:)

Welcome back, Usivius!

I saw the commercial for this movie just last night. Hard to say if I'll see it. The title makes me groan: Bon Cop Bad Cop? Sure, it plays up the anglophone-francophone angle or whatever. But I still think it's kinda lame.

I like Colm Feore a lot, but did it have to be a buddy cop movie? I'm still recovering from the Lethal Weapon films.

Oh, well, I await your verdict...

I heard a review on CBC for Miami Vice that said, "The best part of this movie was the first ten minutes...the trailer for Bon Cop Bad Cop"

Yeah, welcome back Usivius, please let us know how the film was.

OK I saw this last night ....
Wow, I was impressed. It was really great. I'm not sure if I should describe everything in detail or just briefly tell you all how good it was.
It has teh style and action of a big Hollywood movie (good or bad as you see it, but it was done well), with biting wit and refreshing humour.
The cast is fantastic!
I am unsure how many jokes might not be fully appreciated, if you are not from Canada (especially eastern Canada), but there is so much humour in this movie that it seems to hit on all levels.

I will curb my enthusiasm for the moment and merely give it an enthusiastic thumbs up and recommend all to see it.

:D

Why do you Upper Canadians insist on calling yourselves Eastern Canadians.

What are we out here.... Far Eastern Canadians?

Seriously...it's so great to see good Canadian Movies that don't star the MacKenzie Brothers.
