Sega Fantasy - Strange Rehash of Final Fantasy

Maybe those of you who'd be interested are already well aware, but I think it worthwhile to post this. Basically, this Japanese animator (animators?) put together redone versions of the Final Fantasy endings, with the characters replaced with consoles. FF4 has PS1/2 as the main villain. FF5 has X-Box instead of X-Death, get it? NeoX-Death is the PSX - a revamped Japan only version of the PS2 - on top of the Xbox, nice joke. In ff6, the main villain is the PSP, and the three statues are various older systems.

Only Sega Fantasy VI is translated into english - it's much longer than the others, containing all three statue fights and random additional content not in the game (actually IV and V do too, but aren't as long). However, all three contain great remixes of some of the best FF tracks - the Atma Weapon theme, the Battle with Kefka, and other stuff. At the very least, it's worth listening to the redone themes in Sega Fantasy V, which if you ask me are the best musical work - the "Big Bridge" song that serves as Gilgamesh's theme is remixed to an even greater level of quality (though it's still got annoying sounds in it it's fun to listen to overall). IIRC the one thing they didn't touch are the various character themes that play during the normalized ending of FF6, but I have a less-intact memory of how those went so it's hard for me to tell.

Sadly they totally left the nice, uplifting music that plays during the credits of FF6, when your little airship flies through the skies, making the player feel slightly elated after everything's over and done.
