OK, so I've been trying to initiate the CC Group sidequest. Problem is, no matter what I do, I can't get Jack to challenge me! I just keep getting the

Have you won some games in Balamb Garden? It's either 10 or 15, I can't remember which off the top 'o my head...but after that, you should be able to fight jack.
When are you attempting to do this? I don't remember when I did the quest, but maybe you have to get to disc 2 or 3 before you can initiate it.
When I think about it a little more, I'm pretty sure it has to be after disc 2. I won't explain to avoid 'spoilers' about the identity of the members.

On a side note, has anyone heard of the Dirge of Cerberus? FFVII? Whats the deal?

I'm currently digging FF2 quite a bit.
On FF8: I found it better than FFIX, and FFX was just too small. I haven't finished any of the others yet, so its hard to judge. And with the plot of FFVII spoiled so badly before I even started playing FF games, it'll be hard to enjoy FFVII as much.

Long-term FF fans always say 6 is the best. Since it was never released here I've been deprived.kevinswatch wrote:1) Yeah, I've been playing Dirge of Cerberus, and it's a fun little game. Nothing amasing, but it's kinda fun.
2) I agree that FF8 is probably the second best FF game, but the best is definitely FF6, not that overrated FF7 crap.

CovJr, FFVI was released here for the PS1 shortly after FF Origins (1 and 2) and FF Anthology (4,and 5) were. It's hard to find, but it's available. I started it a while back, but got distracted early and didn't finish.
I think it's about damn time that FFIII got an english translation. With the big retro kick Square have been on, and the money grubbing with all the sequels and such, you'd think they'd jump on the idea, but there doesn't seem to be any sign of it.

Out of stock there: like I said, hard to find. I spotted it second hand a couple of years back.

They are. Actually, it's supposed to be released over here soon (next month I think). It's going to be remade for the DS, a complete overhaul too, with new 3D graphics.I think it's about damn time that FFIII got an english translation.

I remember getting FF6 straight after James got it. FF6 was really good but FF7 will always be my fav. I didn't like FF8 because of the ending bit
But now I like it for some reason. I enjoyed FF9 but it was too kiddy, silly... if you get what I mean. FF10 was too sort.
I have FF1, 2, 4 and 5 but I have yet to finish them.
A lot of people go on about another Square game called Crono Trigger. What is that like?
Spoiler
I thought Time Compression sucked n stuff
