i was tempted to go thru this list decade by decade and post my grievances and agreements butchoo know what....it ain't worth it.

ger pointed this list out to me a week or so ago and i glanced at it, saw the absence of pink floyd, acknowledged that the maker of the list is a big stone roses and radiohead fan, wondered how on earth anybody in the "2000's" can say what is influential in advance (do we really think, down the road, Kid A is going to be considered influential??? i mean i love radiohead but come on...) and promptly forgot this list.

that has to be the most pathetic "list" of "best of" I have ever seen!
Tell me it is a joke, then tell me who wrote it and/or what magazine it was found in....

The 80s section contains Metallica and AC/DC but not Iron Maiden? Pah! Metallica have even said they themselves were strongly influenced by Maiden.

As for Pink Floyd: I don't like them myself, but there's no denying their significance. They should definitely be on the list.

I can see Purple Rain for Prince in the 1980's, but Sign O' the Times as well? Ya lose me there, especially when they omit Petty's "Full Moon Fever" which includes the Classics "I won't back down", "Free Fallin'", "Running Down a Dream", etc. these are the tunes that bands like the Foo Fighters, Killers, etc. all grew up on and were infuenced by.

I second that thought! :)

Also, I just don't get the whole Kanye West thing.

I'm no Jackson fan, but the pure pop power of that LP is undeniable. It is kind of like Top 40's version of Black in Black, if you will.

I must join the bandwagon and say that this list is no good.

Right from the get-go, with the Pink Floyd thing; well that proves that the people involved had the same taste in music, so it's not a very good colaboration to get an across-the-board voting.

I don't link Pink Floyd either; but I know that at least one in four music lovers do; and that alone should include them.

And yeah..no Queen?

It looks like something that was thrown together by two or three friends in about a half an hour.

A Hank Williams collection in the 2000s category. That makes a lot of sense. This list is utter shite, in every way.
