Play Nethack, arguably the best combination of economy and amazing gameplay ever. It's an Ascii (unless you mod it) game which uses what I assume are DnD type mechanics. It's very fun, very quick to jump into and very hard to master; lets just say I've played some of the "hardest" games ever, but I just beat Nethack for the second time after about half a year of play.
