Answers to Common Questions

Figured I would at least create the thread for now and I'll add to it as we go :)

My account won't work/I can't log in/I can't post (Added 9/14/05 by Jay)
If you can't log into your account at all and post, the quickest way to get help is to send me (Jay) an e-mail.

I keep on getting logged out

Make sure you select the "Keep me logged in" box when you log in. If you do this and it still logs you out, then Bill Gates is to blame.

I couldn't access the board for a while

Most likely a server crash. In the cut-throat world of the shared server provider, it's difficult to get reliability at $5 a month - or 16c a day

I'm new - What should I do?

Take the time to have a look around. We have our "One size fits all" welcome thread --> Click me to see the Welcome Thread If you have a site of your own, venture on down to the My World forum and tell us all about it there - just don't go spamming it in any other forums. If you were to click on The Collective, you will notice a bunch of different forums that cater for some very specific discussions. Anything that doesn't match the topics in The Collective, can be discussed in the General Discussion forum

What's with the Shop and Bank and WGD's?

You really should open up a bank account as soon as possible and as you post and earn WGD's - deposit them into your newly created bank account where they end up earning you interest. As time progresses - or if someone donates a chunk of WGD's to you - you can add some cool effects to your name, choose your own title, and buy stuff from the Shop

Nope, never get 'em, and I don't have any kind of pop-up protection. Sure it's not something else you're running? I know Kazaa will throw some out at me every now and then.

You probably have some kind of adware/spyware loaded on your PC that are generating those popup ads. You may want to try downloading Ad-Aware if you want to get rid of that kind of stuff from your PC. It's amazing how much stuff gets loaded on your PC without you even knowing it! :-x

Here's the link...It's free!

Currently, not much, but Vain's got plans. There's still a few things you can get by clicking on the "shop" icon up top... change your title, add some custom effects, etc.

Could Fist possibly be as gorgeous as he appears in the Motley Crew pix???

Yes, it's true. None of those pictures have been altered in any way.

No offense, but I'm not sure any man could be as tempting as Damelon in a sweater.

I have some questions:

Why is the name of this site Kevin's Watch?

Have any of you actually met SRD?

Those items under your avatar, which function do they have?

Jay (kevinswatch) decided to call to the site Kevin's Watch, after all that's where we were originally summoned to. It started off as an EZBoard that no longer exists about 4 years ago.

I have met Mr. Donaldson three times, twice at readings and once at the movie theater-I look foward to meeting him again (along w/about 17 other Watchers) at Elohimfest in Albuquerque in 2 weeks and at the end of August at Bubonicon '04 (The New Mexico Sci-Fi and Fantasy convention). I believe on this site at least Romeo, Mouseglove and Ringthane have also met him-probably a few others that I can't think of right now...

Those thingys are just for fun and can be found in the "shop" and purchased with White Gold Dollars.

1. High Lord Jay, the founder of the board, named it Kevin's Watch. Maybe he will pop in later and tell us why. :)

2. Yes, some of the people here have met Mr. Donaldson. In fact, a group of us will be getting together to have dinner with him in less than two weeks at Elohimfest in New Mexico. :)

3. The little pictures below our names can be puchased in the shop, which you can find underneath Kevinswatch banner. They are just for fun. You can buy things with the white gold dollars, which you can earn by making posts, or receive as gifts. :)
