Ideal Movie/Series Casting

Post by Waddley »

Ok, personally, my ideal cast is a bunch of no-names with amazing talent who look exactly like I want them to look.

But since that isn't as fun as picking celebs (major and minor) and arguing over them, here we go.

Who are your pics?

Cerci- Nicole Kidman. I know, I know, but I think she could pull it off.
Bran Stark- Jimmy Bennett
I can't remember the rest of the kids' appx ages, but I like this kid for Jon Snow, if he's old enough.
And I'm digging this kid for Rob, but I think he may be TOO old, heh. I'm going to have to reread to remember ages...

That's all I've got for now, although ideas are a-brewin!

Could work - I think they were 14-15 in the first book.

I'll have to give this some thought. :D

Cersei - The white which from narnia.
Ned - Daniel Day Lewis perhaps? Or this guy? www.imdb.com/name/nm0258268/

Sandor - www.imdb.com/name/nm1113959/

I was thinking her for Cerci, too Warmark. She could work, if they could pretty her up enough. She has to be able to do seductive, and I just don't see her as that... yet. My mind could be changed.

Oh! There's a website!
geocities.com/asoiafcasting/
(LOVE their picks for the Stormlands!! Others I agree with, and some not so much...)

Looking at this website's cast list... you can only wonder at all the actors the'll need. There are just so many characters to the book. I'm starting to get afraid they'll take liberties and change things to cut down on characters... :?

Oh! good site.

Viserys looks good,

They have a lot of characters on there that i think will get the chop, i think many side characters will disapear.

Damian Lewis as Edmure is a great choice aswell.
Samwell looks good also.

Pete Postlethwaite as Qyburn is brilliant.

:lol:If they cast Gregor Clegane as the guy on tht site ill cry.

:haha: John Lokce from LOST as Thoros could work.

I want Billy Zabka, the sweep-the-leg guy from Karate Kid, to play Jaime. They could probably afford him, too.

IF (and I know it's not even a possibility) but IF they used that website's cast list, the series would be so full of hotness that I'd simply explode.

Really, I wouldn't be able to make it past the first episode. Their pick for Renly and the fact that they threw Vin Diesel in there just for kicks would have me d.e.d. DEAD.

Imagine the budget it would have.

That website has some good choices, but a lot I wouldn't agree with, and several clearly more based upon fandom than careful thought (I gave up when I saw the third BSG cast member listed. I only just managed to keep going after Josh Holloway).

Re: Tilda Swinton (the witch from Narnia) as Cersei--from what I've seen of her, she usually looks very pale and thin. Not sure it's what you'd look for in a Cersei.

So if this show is on HBO, does that mean there will be nudity? I'm going to base my choice of Cersei on who I want to see buck nekked. This will take time.

There better be nudity. There is in the books- there should be in the show. Period.

I think the fact that it's gonna be on HBO (rather than say, the SciFi channel) means that it probably won't be censored. :cross:

That's an awesome website, Waddley. Someone put a LOT of work into that. Agree with some of the picks more than others, but the sheer scale is quite impressive. 8O

Just a random thought, and I don't really expect anyone to agree with me, but I was thinking that John Barrowman would've been a great Renly a few years ago. (Hey, if they're going to steal actors from BSG and Dr. Who they might as well not leave any show I watch intact.)

He's kinda too old to be Renly, isn't he? I always imagined Renley in his mid 20's, but that could just be because he was so youthful. Other than that, he's a hunk... oooh! How about McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy?? He should be in it, too... just to ya know... make it even harder for the ladies to sit through... ;)

Edit:
Nevermind- Borrowman is Scottish. He must be in the series. I don't care WHO he plays...

Yeah, too old for Renly. I was thinking that he kinda had the Baratheon look, but he definitely couldn't be Robert or Stannis. Hmm...

What if we just fill the entire cast with Scots?

Whoa! That's an excellent choice. HBO would save a lot of money on make-up
Spoiler
For her character during the shooting of A Feast For Crows.
