I can't believe that there's no thread for this show yet.
Love it. Great ensemble cast, great writing, and of course.....Mark Harmon. I haven't seen many of this season's episodes as I have a scheduling conflict on Tuesday evenings, but I've enjoyed what I've seen.

This show was a spin-off from JAG, which I've enjoyed through re-runs. I'll probably start watching this sometime, but haven't seen anything yet. I do wish Catherine Bell was on it.
DLB, NCIS is so much better than JAG it's frightening. The agents aren't commandeering F-14s and waging their own war.
Edit-And in this forum, we do not speak poorly of Mr. Harmon.

Absolutely. I've gotten into the habit of doing that with my daughter. Then again, she's got this huge hero-thing going with Abbs, so I may reconsider having her watch the show with me. I don't know if I can handle a goth daughter, even though Abbs is the happiest goth on the planet.

True, and Catherine Bell has those.....And I like those on a woman.

Yeah, this is one of my favorite shows on TV. I do think the writing this season has taken a slight turn for the worse, though. Not horrible, but...
And I wish someone would shoot the Director. Really don't like the character.
And living in Norfolk for a few years and being in the navy makes it a little bit more fun, I think.

I actually talked to NCIS once. A contractor on the ship died while I was on watch (not sure I ever told that story, but anyway). Even though it was a pretty cut and dried case, NCIS has to investigate every shipboard death, so... The whole time I really wanted to say, "Where's Gibbs?"

I'm hoping that there's a big "Ah ha!" at the end of the season to tie everything together.
I've finally gotten to the point that I accept Ziva as part of the team, I like the direction Tony's taking, I want to get naked with Abbs, and Gibbs is one of the best TV characters ever.
But I agree, I want the Director dead.
And I still miss Kate.

Put it this way, I'm a cheapskate, and I bought the first two seasons the day they came out on DVD. I'll be at Best Buy April 24th to pick up season 3.

As I've said before, I think this is a tremendously solid show. No, it's not as good as Millennium, but the strength of the cast and the writing puts it head and shoulders above other "similar" shows like JAG, CSI, Without a Trace, and the like.
And it's got Mark Harmon and a hot goth chick.

And with any luck, Director Shepherd will die soon. Or get fired.
Seriously, what qualifications does she have other than having once slept with Gibbs? She doesn't listen to anybody, she never seems to be right about anything, and I can't think of one positive effect she's had since she's started. She can't even catch one little arms dealer.

Let's say something about MacCallum's character too--they've, actually, given him part of a life lately (absolutely hilarious the way he knows, but pretends not to know about his asst. and the lawyer sneaking around, literally, behind his back ) I mean he was the Naz as Illia Khureaken on The Man From Uncle (think Paul Newman, Steve McQueen and James Dean-guys too cool to even be uttered in a sentence) but he's so damm good on this show! (and, maybe aside from the dreaded director-the only one who can call Gibbs Jethro to his face)
