Yep, I think it's finally time for a new avatar, but when I find one I like..it's too big. The URL for the one I'm thinking of using is www-personal.umich.edu/~fazzari/Amber/T ... ct3-sm.jpg
How do I make it smaller, since my profile thingy keeps saying it's too big!

Just as a general info thing, the way I usually shrink my pics is by opening them up with MS Paint, pick "Image" on the top, "Stretch/Skew" and then use the percentage thing to shrink it. (current image size) * (percentage of horizontal and vertical) = (Avatar Size). So if the image you have is, say, 250 (the larger one being more important) by 150 it'd plug in as 250x=100, so you'd want to make the percentage 40% (for both dimensions otherwise it gets squished looking). Save the new image and there you go.
Of course, even though I get the image to the acceptable size (pixels and file size), it still usually doesn't work, so I have to bug Vain anyway.

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
