We all love em. Most of us have em. How many do you guys have? What are they like? Do you want ten of them or just one someday?

Me and Syl have a son- Dante Andarin. He is 7 and a half months old and of coarse he is the most beautiful and brightest baby in the whole world.
He had weight gain problems recently. He didn't gain anything from 4-7 months but the doc put him on high calorie diet and he fattened up real fast. Other than that, he's ahead of the game. Started crawling at six months and he follows me around the house all day going "da da da da da" He has big blue eyes and blond hair and most people think he is a girl because he is very pretty. :D

We plan to home school him but we haven't really looked into it yet. I guess we have a few more years to think it over. I want to get him in a good daycare system now and get him around babies his age but those seem to be extinct around here. So I'm keeping my eye out for a playgroup. Not very many of those for babies though. :)

Danny is 7, Lisa is 4, and Shaina is 5 months. Danny wasn't doing so well socializing, so we started a playgroup, which grew to the point where up to 20 kids and several moms (I was the only father :) ) would show up each week. But that wasn't until he was 3-4 yo.

Like I said elsewhere, my kids were/are all horrible screamers as babies.

Dan just finished 1st grade. Makes us SOOO proud with his smarts!! :D :D Not quite so proud with his attention span. :D He's just like his daddy - glued to the computer whenever he gets the chance!! He's also very nice, polite, and thoughtful. He's the kid lots of moms want theirs to hang with, hoping that he'll rub off on them. And we want their trouble-makers around anyway, loving when they talk Dan into getting down & dirty like a little boy should! :)

Thanks for this thread Hellfire!!

Lisa is... hard to describe. I don't mean it as an insult when I say she's a demon-child. She is extremely strong-willed, stubborn, self-sufficient, and has definite and very specific preferences about everything under the sun!! It is an extreme test of our patience, as we have no idea what we'll do wrong next until she's screaming at us for it! And I'm absolutely in love with her for it!! Her spirit is beautiful and an inspiration! And I will worry less about her later in life because of it.

Not so much to report about Shaina yet. But isn't it amazing when I say, "Hi baby girl!" and she smiles, puts her hands to her mouth, and buries her face in her mom's shoulder! :D :D :D

LOL. I know just what you mean. When I came home after my month out at sea (a pretty long time in infant standards) I wasn't sure how Dante would react to me. He's not very good with people other than his mommy holding him. Well, he was just all smiles and happiness, and nothing's better than saying, "Hey, Buddy" across the room and having him look over at me and smiling before hiding in Mommy's hair, or having him race over to me on the carpet and try gnawing on my toes or grabbing my tattoo (kanji symbol, right shin).

we have 3 chicklets .. their all beautiful .. they were beautiful as babies and their beautiful as fully grow'd gremlins ..

they all have exceptional senses of humour .. its so fun to have good sported ankle-biters .. to laugh and joke with .. they can totally crack me up!! ..

hehe .. anyway .. we have 2 boys and 1 girl .. and the girl is most definately the bossiest of the 3 ;) and well the oldest .. so i guess that goes with the territory .. she's a honey ;) they're all vibrant personalities who know their worth ..

I love 'em all but i am hopelessly and totally addicted to the youngest .. but then we all are  .. Which is kinda cool cos its favouratism shared by all of us .. so no-one gets bent out of shape .. Nathanael is the youngest and he is so adorable and sweet .. when he's not fighting his siblings to the death ;) .. He loves to sing .. he sings like a bird .. he loves to sing old songs that they learn at school .. like 'bye bye blackbird' and that sort of stuff .. I lvoe to listen to him singing .. he sounds like shirley temple .. or some young male equivalent ;) I really want to get him taped before his voice changes .. Infact I'd love to get him recorded professionally .. so that the copy is flawless .. and keep it for my personal enjoyment .. I will be very sad if he ever loses this ability .. as he matures

We always ask him to sing in the car .. and bask in the resonnance of his little voice .. he sings with such enthusiasm and passion that it cannot but touch you as you listen .. and we go all gooey inside ..

they all love music and susana and nathanael <the youngest> can play the piano by ear .. their really quite amazing .. Nathanael has been playing since he was 4 and I am overwhelmed at his repurtoir (sp?) .. I play by ear too .. but not nearly as competently as they do ..

nathanael has just turned 9 a week ago .. infact we just had a disaster birthday party on Saturday gone ;) 10 of his friends and not at all how we'd planned ;) .. Nathanael is into all things yu gi oh .. (sp?)

alexander is 11 and susana is 12 .. they're all great athletes .. particularly the two eldest .. Susana has represented the Territory in track and field .. and they both are brilliant basketballers .. lol

I love going to their games .. sadly it is a little less often these last months as it has become significantly more expensive ..

They know they're loved and cherished and it shows .. they are all confident and very thoughtful kids .. and very compassionate .. They are very understanding of their flawed parents ..

I have two kids - Steven 12 and Claire 10.

Steven is my boy. He is one of those children who is not so smart and struggles with his studies. He is very quiet and shy but he has a sharp sense of humor and will throw in a hilarious zinger on you when you least expect it! He turns 13 in September so he is reaching that age when he is starting to turn into a teenager! :x Half the time I don't know if I should kiss him or kill him! I'm told that I haven't seen the worst of it yet! :? It seems that I don't have many nice things to say about him and that really sound awful! I love him to death however and thank God that puberty is short-lived!

Claire is all sunshine and love. She is always in a good mood and always puts out her best effort in all things. She is a gifted athlete and is pretty smart. The biggest part of Claire is her heart. She is such a giving and unselfish person with me. She always wants to make sure that I am happy (of course, she goes out of her way to make her brother miserable!). I'm afraid that when she reaches puberty, she will turn into the devil!

Of all the compliments I have had about my kids, the one that I appreciate most is that they are both VERY well behaved. I can take them anywhere and not have to remind them of their manners nor reprimand them for their behavior. At home, it is a different story!!

Nice name choice for your daughter Caam! I'm partial to it for some reason

I'm an only child and I would absolutely love to have siblings but it's far too late for that now so when I have kids I plan on having 3 or so. I just hope they don't turn out like me! :?

We have two really great kiddos. Gabriel -7, and Morgan - 18 mos. Gabe is such a neat kid, I'm so proud of him. He's very sweet tempered and compassionate, with an empathic capacity that I find a little uncanny in such a young child. He loves to play with his baby sister. He's been in love with her since she was born. When she was small (er) he used to sit on the floor beside her and sing to her and tell her stories, and show her her toys for hours. Of course he enjoys her even more now that she's old enough to chase around. His favorite things in the world are Star Wars (if asked, he'll give you a Puh-leez look and inform you that the original trilogy is way better than the new ones :D ), Lego's, and LOTR. Definately a child after our own hearts. :Hail: Gabe! 8)
Morgan is our adorable baby girl. Colin (my husband) thinks the sun rises over her head. She's starting to talk - chattering nonstop in gobbledygook, with a real word thrown in from time to time. She's usually too busy to cuddle, but since I'm way bigger than her, it's easy to snatch her up for a quick smooch if I'm willing to brave indignant cawing and whacks about the face. I call her Little Miss Mullet sometimes, because her hair is very fine and very straight (like her mom's, poor baby) and much longer in the back than on top. Her full name is Morgan Olivia Marley Claire. There were too many names we liked, so she got them all. (Gabe's middle name is Isaac.) They're both bright, beautiful kids, and as my dad used to say, I wouldn't trade either of 'em for a day old biscuit.

Thanks for this thread Hellfire - parents are always looking for excuses to brag on their kids. Or at least I am.

Wonderful beautiful kids everyone :D

I always had a real nuturing instinct and I used to show it in my pets before I had a baby. I used to buy clothes for my ferrets(yes they actually sell such things) and I would show them off to my friends. I think I used to "mother" my ex boyfriends and Syl too much as well. But men love that kinda thing I think. ;)

I don't know if anyone here nursed thier baby but that has built a really strong bond between me and Dante as well. I was going to the bulletin board for awhile that was all about nursing at www.babycenter.com and I still drop in when I need advice or feel the need to give it. 8)

Matthew is 4 1/2 & my pride & joy. He is smart as a whip - I've already been quizzing him on math problems and he absolutely LOVES to read & be read to. I start the Hobbit next week after he gets back from a weekend with Papa & Grandma (he can't wait for the dragon part).

We had some difficulty conceiving the boy, went thru 5 yrs of infertility treatments - stopped just before the invitro step. We had accepted the fact that we could not have our own and actually had started the adoption 'ball' rolling, and 3 months after we stopped 'trying' - surprise!

My boy is beautiful & smart and I'm convinced he will be a lawyer or a politician - he can argue his point till he wears you down & you give in to whatever idea he had, no matter whether you think cookies for breakfast are a good idea or not!!!

Of course, I've got him penciled in to attend Penn State to get his engineering degree - I guess I'll have to see where his talents take him.

I agree - good topic Hellfire!

I have two little rugrats.

Damien is 7 - going on 8 in August. His middle name is Ayrton, after our hero Ayrton Senna. Of course, he may not thank us when he gets older ;)

We were always never going to have ANY kids and then we were ONLY going to have ONE kid. Four years later and out popped Julianne :)

She's 3 - going on 4 in September (they're both born on the 20th quite coincidentally) She no longer likes to be called "my baby...", insisting that she's a BIG girl. The other evening she followed up her BIG girl claim by saying:

"Look at the size of me !"

They're both as headstrong as kids can possibly get but when they're asleep they're still my little babies :)

At 14 and 10 my huband still likes to watch our two sleep and says things like "look at how adorable they are when they're sleeping". :D They would die from embarressment if they knew their dad says things like that about them. ;)
And when they're sick or scared they still come crawling into bed with Mommy. The morning of my older son's surgery last month he came crawling into bed with me and curled up against my back. The nurse asked if he was nervous when we got to the hospital and he said no, and I mentioned that he has come crawling into bed that morning -- his answer, "MOM! I was just cold and was stealing your back heat!" Yeah, right, son!

My mom is an embarassment to society. She's a member of COMICT for heaven's sake! (Council Of Moms In Crossville Tennessee) They go about insuring that we children are "safe." More like bored to death! They made the library get rid of all the books that qualified as "thought provoking." They don't want us to think for ourselves, or live outside the box. They want us kids to be stereo-types. Well, we didn't like that. So, we went temporarily evil. Goth rock, black clothes, pale skin, and we started burning stuff. Hehe... We didn't disband COMICT, but we daunted them. There are usually caves or big trees on everyone's properties, so we moved into the ones on our respestive properties. My group turned Wiccan. The others are still going on with that evil thing.

So what I'm trying to say is, the kids in Hickville are strange.

ahhhh the rebelling days. When will parents learn not to stifle the youth's creativity or that is what they will get.
Of coarse now that I'm an adult and I have to pay for things- I can't condone burning anything down. But the dauntings I can totally relate to- even now. DOWN WITH THE MAN :!: Now where did I put that nose ring and that old trusty tube of black eyeliner :?: Think I'll rally up my friends to chant over a few crystals under a full moon once again. :D Thanks TF for the reminder. Don't ever let anyone tell you who you have to be. Only ask why they can't be more like you. :)

Ah, but it is true. :) You happen to be one of the few adults that don't try to convert me to being an X-tian or turn me into a nun. (there are several nuns there that'll say I'm possessed :) ) You are cool, whether you believe you are or not. :)
