James, know the name of the activity that these guys do in urban areas, where perform a lot of acrobatics and crazy jumps and things off of buildings and stairwells and such? A lot like the african guy in the opening scene of Casino Royale.

Well, actually what you are describing is freerunning. If you so much as
mention flips (which is what everyone will asume you mean if you say acrobatics) on a parkour forum, you are extremely likely to get flamed.

I'll be carefull.
Beside flips, what are the differences?

Not a lot. Basically, the Parkour guys act as if parkour is some sacred, holy act. It is all about moving efficiently... so if you are not using the most efficient way to pass an obstacle, you are not doing parkour (and they will be more than happy to tell you so, generally something like "THAT'S NOT PARKOUR OMG NOOB!!!!111"
Freerunning contains all of the moves of parkour, but no rules. As a result it also has spins, flips, and other "inefficient" moves in it.
