This was my mom's favourite series ever. She bought the whole series on VHS wayyy back and must have watched it about a dozen times. Really.
I saw it once way back about 15 years ago (or more) and liked it. After she passed away about 6 years ago, the series has been sitting on my VHS shelves, collecting dust...
I pulled them down and started watching again. Wow. Ok, some of the production values are a little dated, but holy crap, there are some amazing actors here! No slouches in the whole bunch!
I'm on ep. 4... this is amazing writing and acting.
Anyone else seen this juggernaut?...

Well.......This was my mom's favourite series ever
That was depressing to read since I saw it when it first aired and liked it too.

But I was just a kid!

Yeah funny story about that.
A song came on the radio one day and my wife asked me what it reminded me of.
I said "I Claudius" because it was the opening theme song to Masterpiece Theater (the PBS station that aired the series).
The "funny" part to this story is that the song also played at our wedding and that was the answer she was expecting.............

well I would have been 10 when it came out. But didn't see it until after mom got the set. She had taped it from PBS or TVO and wore it out, then bought a copy. I watched it because Patrick Stewart was in it and got immediatley hooked.
Man, what a b@stard he plays!
coool!
