Basically a heavy duty wooden cutting board. The one pictured here is 22x13x3, the one I got is 24x21x2. It covers all four burners of my electric range.

For once, something is as it seems! I had imagined a butchers block to be a big block where you did some heavy duty chopping, but on second thoughts I'd decided that was far too straightforward and that it's probably be a pasta machine or something!

Freecycle.org is being very good to me lately.
Yesterday I scored a NIB Black and Decker Flavor Scenter Steamer Plus:
I have wanted a rice cooker for a long time, and this can be used to steam seafood, vegetables, chicken, eggs, fruit, and other items. I used it tonight as a rice cooker, and it is awesome in that capacity.
Woo-hoo!!!
