I responded to the following on my local freecycle today, and got it!!
We have a butcher block: 21 X 24 X 2
Well used, we just moved & don't have room for it in the new kitchen!
I've never had my own butcher block, and have always dreamed of owning one. And this one is hard wood maple. I am so excited!

What is a "butcher's block?"

Butchers Block - wikipedia

Basically a heavy duty wooden cutting board. The one pictured here is 22x13x3, the one I got is 24x21x2. It covers all four burners of my electric range.

Ah-ha! (correct guess by the way! )

For once, something is as it seems! I had imagined a butchers block to be a big block where you did some heavy duty chopping, but on second thoughts I'd decided that was far too straightforward and that it's probably be a pasta machine or something!

Freecycle.org is being very good to me lately.

Yesterday I scored a NIB Black and Decker Flavor Scenter Steamer Plus:

I have wanted a rice cooker for a long time, and this can be used to steam seafood, vegetables, chicken, eggs, fruit, and other items. I used it tonight as a rice cooker, and it is awesome in that capacity.

Woo-hoo!!!
