As a father of two, I would be remise if I didn't comment on my two beauties. They are my soul. Even when the little one fills her diaper.

All to many times we dad's get a bad rap... I hear that Dad's don’t change diapers, they don’t sing songs, and they don’t do the wiggles dance... WELL I DO!!! Please tell me I am not alone!

I think I'm somewhere in between, though mostly active. You'd have to ask Hellfire for an honest assessment, however. Please feel free to join in our little gush-fest here.

im not a dad, but i may as well b. all my friends call me dad, except 4 those i live with, who call me the cleaning nazi.

I'm not a Dad either , but I would be interested to know just how many Dads here actually help out in the kitchen??? I know Sky can rustle up some good grub.....what about the rest of you guys???

i do most of the cooking in our home. its not that exciting, but i am getting better. i also dont have 2 do the dishes.

On a related note, anybody ever have Dad's Rootbeer?

Lord, didn't know this would bring up so many thoughts...

Lets see,

Dad's Rootbeer: Yes, seconded only by A&W But they have that whole Ice-cream thing going... with out the Ice-cream dead tie.

Cooking: Had you tuned in last night, I had my Yahoo webcam on while I fixed the 5lbs of shrimp I got from the coast. 2.5lbs went to plain peal N eat. 1.25 each went to Garlic sautéed and Hickory sautéed shrimp platters! Had a house full, they always come when I make shrimp! Also, my wife loves to run out of food in the house... because, that’s when I put on my creativity hat and bust out with a 10 course feast made form this and that...

And Turiya, after posting 1253 times in here, I would well imagine you know full well how this got in here!

My husband loves to cook...every Sunday he cooks up the biggest breakfast you've ever seein in your life. And since I have worked second and third shift for over fifteen years, he's done his share of changing diapers, etc. too.

we share everything .. and we do as much stuff together as we can ..

as for the kids LOL .. we'd like them to do more .. hehe .. lol .. but what can we say???

we schedule family activities .. so that we can do stuff together .. but not just run of the mill stuff .. but fun stuff ..

every monday night we have family night .. at home .. we have games, a lesson where we look at all stuff ethical to all stuff educational .. like we recently had a grammar night lol .. that was fun

actually it was ..

life gets away from you so easily and sucked into the black hole where all time goes .. and we find that we have to schedule quality into our time

yeah its fun in the given home .. its like living in school all the time lol .. and never being able to escape!!

well not till their adults anyway .. i hope

I love to cook and certainly know my way around a kitchen! Don't make me bring out the BIG pots!

My hubby cooks better then I do! So I let HIM do it when he's able He works long hours, but still finds time for his family...he's a great Dad.

I am so pumped to here that most of you have great fathers in your homes. Too often, us dad's get a bum rap, and it ticks me off.

But that does appear to be the trend, Dads these days seem to have changed from how our fathers had been. We are more touchy feely then they had been. But have we lost something along the way?

MAN, I haven't seen or had it for decades!! I love DAD'S!
I instantly had memories of childhood seeing the name! gotta look around tomorrow!

In the unlikely event that I actually have a child I guess you would have to call me "Absent Dad".

My dad is really active... A little too much so sometimes though. My curfew is ridiculous. But he's always been there... building me a treehouse, making sand castles, reading to me everynight until I fell asleep... Plus he cooks almost everynight! Good stuff too, always trying new and weird recipes.

Oh, and the rootbeer is good too

The Caer is a sort of active dad. He takes over but I always have to ask and that is good enough for me. I do alot of asking. I definately handle the majority of the housework but I stay home too- for now. I also do about 3/5 of the cooking but the really good meals he can take half or more of the credit for. He is a very creative cooker and I always have to go by the book (literally) just to rival one of his feast. I have yet to see him even glance at recipe card in years.

Lord Trevor is a great dad .. and a great partner .. he never balks at cleaning or cooking and is always happy to lend a hand .. and often takes the major role

he is a great cook .. so cant complain there

and the kids love him to death .. and sometimes i think they will be the death of us both lol
