TCTC Art

Post by Vain »

There seems to be a bit more popping up at deviantart. Anybody a member there? If so - take some time out to rope them into KW as we could certainly do with more people with artistic talents to help visualise the characters better :)

I don't think so!!
One wide forest of sentience and passion filled all the region - one mind and heart alive in every leaf and bough of every tree among the many myriad throngs and glory of the woods.Image

Interesting. The one of Covenant is pretty good, though I don't recall him ever wearing a brown robe or saying, "Live long and prosper." ;) The Geiger-esque one of Drool Rockworm has been posted here before somewhere. And yeah, big Hell No to the Forestal.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Yeah, it's pretty darn close to being a Vulcan salute, but at least Covenant's halfhand is correct. :)

That Forestal...wow, did the Borg take over the forests or something?

My favorite two:

The Illearth Stone by DoomPastry

Northron Climbs by lawnelf

Maybe the Illearth Stone scene looks a little too polished...I would've liked to have seen some deformation of the rock, some ugliness there to suggest the Stone's corruptive, corrosive influence. Oh my, I'm turning into an art critic. :P

Oh, and I was really impressed by fraterchaos's accurate synopsis of the books! Bravo!

But that anime Elena...sorry, but I'm appalled...(shudders)

I like the two by Mirk0, especially the sunbane abomination. I can't remember how it was written exactly, but I like the one he's drawn a lot. Really fits with the kind of corruption I'd imagined.
Q. Why do Communists drink herbal tea?
A. Because proper tea is theft.

The Illearth Stone is cool, although I must say that it looks like a scene from one of my son's video games. Maybe Morrowind: Oblivion.

I really like the TC portrait, even though it was very different from how I picture him! It captures his tension and conflict.

Yeah, Chrysalis, if you can take the time to scour for all the Covenant pictures and put them on one page that would rock!!

Put them in the Laborium (Album)! AKA, the world's largest collection of artwork inspired by Stephen R Donaldson.
