But the film makes up for Keanu by having Jennifer Connelly.

well if she was starring and he was in a different movie, that would be something.

At least Tim Burton's not directing it.

There was NOTHING wrong with the original film. Great performances, great script, great special FX, the whole thing. I'm guessing it's being re made because just about everything gets remade. It's only a matter of time.
As far as the casting for the new film I will withhold judgment for now. I've been surprised by Keanu before. Who knows? It might work. Keanu is almost as unexpressive as David Duchovny. Gee maybe he should have been cast as Gort.

I will confess to being intregued... I just saw the original agian last week. I love it. However it is a movie that could be interesting as a remake. I don't mind the casting so far as long as Jennifer puts back some weight on! She was getting to skinny!!!
Someone post a pic of Jennifer from her voluptious days!..

Ahh, good, this thread has evolved into the Jennifer Connelly picture thread.

Now that is damn funny! Keanu as the robot!

I'd give the Gort role to David though. The poor guy hasn't worked in a while and who knows when the new X-Files movie is coming out.

I thought he was doing quite well for himself (commercially, not thespianically) on that Kalifornication show.

I'd rather see Mr-T as Klaatu. It somehow seems right.
