I can play:

Puff the Majic Dragon (for the boy, really!) Peter. Paul & Mary
Brown Eyed Women/Grateful Dead
Let It Be/Beatles
Stairway to Heaven/Zepplin (for Lord Foul/Simean/et al)
Ship of Fools/Grateful Dead

a few others, all not very well, and usually only in private....

Thankye, Earthblood!

And oh yeah! Let It Be! I'd love to be able to do the piano on it, and the piano at the beginning of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. And on Your Mother Should Know! I shoulda been a pianist! :x

I would be happy to play any musical instrument. One thing I have given my children that I never had is a chance to be surrounded by both music and things to make music with. They both play recorder and trumpet, and African hand drums. Well, I do beat my older son's great big hand drum every now and then...maybe I could try to do the beats to something like Inagodadabeata, howver you spell that song's title. :)

In the Garden of Eden. ;)

Homer: Hey, Marge, remember when we used to make out to this hymn?
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I believe you're speaking of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly! One of my favorites.

Actually, Syl's right in his way.
Legend has it that the band was so wasted during practice the singer was slurring 'in the Garden of Eden' and another band member said it sounds like your singing In A Gadda Da Vida and they liked it. True story... Or so I heard. :)

I assumed it was In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, as their official site ( www.ironbutterfly.com/ ) titles it that. I remember thinking it was "in the Garden of the Eden" myself, when I was younger and didn't have the research skills that the Internet provides.

Yes, of course it is called In- A- Gadda- Da- Vida Foul!
I'm saying that legend has it that originally it was 'In the garden of Eden' before it was recorded, Internet be damned!

As long as there are people who’ve got those little monitors and mouse-clicky thingys, then the Internet will always be. It will change form over the centuries, surely, but the base foundation will remain.

I have had two guitar lessons now and I am on my way to playing the Indigo Girls song I want to learn :D Something in me lights up everytime I hit a chord just right and it sounds pretty. This music thing is hard work but turning out to be rewarding. I am also working on The Cure's Pictures of You.

I'd want to play stuff like the Firebird symphony and Fur Elise on the piano... the real versions... not the dumbed down versions I have in my piano books.
