Cool thread drew!

First record: Hard to say. Either "C is for cookie b/w ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ" or the read-along record from the animated version of the Hobbit.

First tape: Van Halen - 5150

First CD: Queensryche - Operation:LIVEcrime

First download: What, you mean legally? (Not that I've ever done it any other way..... ) - "Lost" from the Cure's sessions at AOL.

First slowdance: Bon Jovi - "Never Say Goodbye"

First make out : I'm not sure. I think it was something she had by Erasure. It coulda been the soundtrack to Mary Poppins, for all the attention I payed it. I mean, dude, I was finally making out!

During first time: Man, we made our own soundtrack...... ;)

*nodding*

This is why I asked.
If a childhood record...
...oh man, I can't believe I am going to admit this...
it was this.

...and no...I don't have it anymore...
I think my sister colored on the vinyl with cheap crayons.

First Record I Received: Same as Menolly - Chipmunks Sing the Beatles, although I might have had others prior. I don't really remember.

First Record I Bought: Paid 1/3 of Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band soundtrack with my sisters, but the first one I bought all by myself: Xanadu soundtrack.

First Tape: I really don't know, to be honest.

First CD: Kate Bush - Lionheart. I couldn't find it on any other format, so I bought it before I owned one of my own. My dad had a CD player but was very stingy with it. He recorded it off for me so I could listen to it at least, but it took him a while.

First Song Downloaded: Y'know...I'm not sure. It was probably a free one from They Might Be Giants.

Others:
First Slowdance: No clue, but I'm pretty sure it was with some friend of the family at my sister's wedding, and I was drunk for the first time.

First song Made-out to: No clue, but it started at a party and then we were moved to continuing the make-out session at Rocky Horror Picture Show, so if I had to say, it would be something from that.

Music playing during First Time: There was no music on other than the pitter-pat of my heart being very uncomfortable, sadly.

First record: either toy dolls' 'nelly the elephant' or tenpole tudor's 'wunderbar'

First tape: i don't think i ever bought tapes - I taped tapes! The only one i ever remember buying was pogues' if i should fall from grace with god, cos we were going on a long car journey and i wanted to listen to it asap. That was a bad decision, in car with my parents! They were none too impressed with Shane's lyrics!

First cd: Lightning seeds' 'Sense'. It was free with something and I didn't even have a cd player at the time!

First song downloaded: think it was the can-can by Bad manners

First song make-out. During a gig of a local band. can't remember the song, but they used to cover soup dragons and wonderstuff, so probably one of theirs.

Music playing during first time: no music on, unfortunately. but in my head, probably something by 'YES!'

First Record: the first i considered 'mine' was Fallen Angel - Uriah Heep

First Tape: some 70's hit collection I think

First CD: Live - Throwing Copper I think

First Song Downloaded: Lacuna Coil - Swamped (I was a bit behind in doing this sort of thing!)

Others:
First Slowdance: um...not a clue!

First song Made-out to / Music playing during First Time : only two songs ever come to mind when I think of times like these - Closer - Nine Inch Nails and Tupac's California Love. Neither of which relate to 'firsts'.

First LP: Elvis Presley's Burnin' Love. This was either '77 or '78. We had our very first record player; dad bought the Elvis album (he was into the sappy movie Elvis, not the rock n roll Elvis), but my sister took over the turntable soon after that.

First Cassette: I'm 90% sure it was Asia - the debut album. This would be 1982. I think we still had our original turntable, but it was on its last legs. Dad had bought a shiny new thing - a stereo boombox, and I was all over it. For me, that was the start of my "golden age" of radio listening (and taping of songs off the air).

First CD: The Beatles' Revolver. 1987. It was the first CD my sister bought for her new-fangled Yamaha CD player, but I got to listen to it first. I think my first CD purchase was Herbert von Karajan's recording of Beethoven's 9th Symphony (part of the conductor's digitally recorded cycle from the '80s).

First piece of music downloaded: I don't recall at all. Maybe that says something about the internet's ephemeral nature. When it's an actual physical object that I take home with me from the store (whether LP, CD or cassette), I remember it more. But a download is nothing more than a few keystrokes and mouse clicks and then watching a progress bar (...40% done...65% done...).

First Tape: two actually, at the same time in 1984: Duran Duran's Seven and the Ragged Tiger and Thompson Twins Into the Gap. Loved the Twins, but not Duran so much except for the song "Union of the Snake."

First Record: never bought a record until way after the fact, for collecting purposes. Bought tapes until CDs came out.

First CD: Lisa Stansfield's Affection in 1991.

First Song Downloaded: I'm with matrixman on this one; can't remember at all.

First Slowdance: none. Sad! :(

First Song Made-Out: 1988; something from Tracy Chapman's first album; probably "Fast Car."

First Time: ditto! :D

<-- never owned an 8-track

I depised the click-clack as it switched tracks in the middle of songs. I stuck with my turntable and vinyl until they pretty much faded out.

first record - can't remember as i inherited my mother's 45's that she'd collected as a teenager (stuff like fats domino, ray charles, dusty springfield, gene pitney, etc) but i'm almost POSITIVE that the first record i ever bought for my self was a Beatles 45, prolly Love Me Do or something.

first album - i can say, without any doubt whatsoever, that the first album i bought was the Soundtrack from... H E L P! that would have been 1965 i think. i was eight. i got the money for my birthday (aug.20th) and my grandmother took me shopping with my birthday money!!! weeee!!!!

first tape - 8 track or otherwise i have no memory of
first - cd or download, ditto

first concert - Jethro Tull, The Warchld Tour, 1975. (also first time i smoked columbian red bud)

first make out song or music? - heh...i remember that with perfect clarity too!! wooo hoooo!!! two albums i'd never heard before that night.
Catch Bull at Four - Cat Stevens and Demons & Wizards - Uriah Heep

Ah...that only goes to illustrate the differences between us TOM.
The song from that soundtrack I hum most often to myself is...
Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
You can sleep safe and sound
Knowing I am around

Slip into silent slumber
Sail on a silver mist
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist

Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
...
Man I love that python...
