History Of The Lords Timeline?

Post by Landwaster »

I've been away from the books for a while now ... in fact they were recently placed in storage

So I can't remember, where there actual passages of time allocated to the terms of reign of the old Lords?

I can't even remember the order of em.

Umm was it :

Berek,
Damelon
Loric
Kevin

???

Was there any actual timeline info available? Do you know where I could go to view it?

Well, that's the right order. But I don't remember anything other than Kevin being High Lord for a thousand years.

Yeah and I think they mentioned how long had passed between his RoD and the arrivalof TC for the first time, too. But can't remember for sure.

I thought it was less than 2000 between the desecration and TC (I could be wrong - we're not given much specific info) - I'm sure I remember something about the people not coming back to the Land for 500 years, and another 500 until the New Lords...

Yeah that sounds familiar. Still no idea how much longer passed from the start of the new lords through to TC's arrival, though. Could have been 1000 years?

Somebody else and I remember it being 2k between RoD and LFB. I'll see if I can find it, but it's been a while.

The New Lords run something like:
Variol
Prothall
Osondrea
Elena
Mhoram

If I remember correctly. I think there is also mention of several unnamed lords before Variol too.
"We do not follow maps to buried treasure, and remember:X never, ever, marks the spot."
- Professor Henry Jones Jr.

"Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth, to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandalled feet."

I seem to remember it being mentioned that Valiant was the first of the "new" High Lords after the Giants delivered the First Ward. I'm not sure of the reference.

Wasn't the Oath of Peace first devised and administered "in the days of Valiant"?

I also seem to remember the figure of 1,000 years for the period between the Desecreation and LFB.
"If we must suffer and die without hope then we will do so, but we will not despair."

Thanks Lord Callindrill!

Interesting, anyone else shed some light?

Again, I dunno ... maybe someone else here does!

Now that's in opposition with the 2000 someone else here said. Clirification would be good for that, too!

Also when was Doriendor Corishev trashed?

Valient was the first to give up high lordship when he felt he was no longer up to the task, so their must have been more before him

Vailant (that's how it's spelt in my glossary) was the High Lord before Variol, wasn't he?

In Lord Foul's Bane was wrote:When he was done, Prothall said without meeting the eyes of his fellow Lords, "There is a custom among the new Lords-a custom which began in the days of High Lord Vailant, a hundred years ago. It is this: when a High Lord doubts his ability to meet the needs of the Land, he may come to the Council and surrender his High Lordship. Then any Lord who so chooses may claim the place for himself." With an effort, Prothall continued firmly, "I now surrender my leadership. Rock and root, the trial of these times is too great for me. Ur-Lord Thomas Covenant, you are permitted to claim the High Lordship if you wish."
