Battlestar Galactica, Season 3

Post by Cameraman Jenn »

I wanted to say something about season three since that is where I am currently at and I was mortified by a spoiler in the main BSG thread. I am trying to convince myself that Cail and dlb were joking or lying or horribly mistaken. Anyhoo, that aside. I don't want to ever go in there again until I am all caught up. However, I do want to say:
Spoiler
What the hell was that Starbuck? You sleep with Lee, agree to be with him from then on and then sneak out in the morning and ask Anders to marry you, run off and elope all before Lee even wakes up? You took lovelife advice from Saul Tighe? What the hell is wrong with you dumbass?"
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Well, women are notoriously insane.

But I agree, I think it's just plain bizarre that she'd listen to Saul.

It was one of those moments that I wanted to bang my head on the wall. I just watched that episode with the boxing matches last night. That's as far as I have gotten in season three. I hope season four comes out a lot quicker than three. Seems like I waited well over a year for it after 2.5 came out. :-x

Well, after the serious story arc on New Caprica, (a major deviation from the main feel and rhythm of the series... and an absolutely awesome opening to S3... Cmon! Galactica falling almost to the surface and jumping out. Badass!) I think they wanted to get us back into the old Rhythm. Just one horribly worn down Battlestar protecting humanity, looking for Earth. Trust me, Season three cooks up one of the most stunning finales I have ever experienced. (Even better than Boomer shooting Adama)

I never did finish watching season 3. The first half of the season was horribly flawed, and the relationship storylines in particular were just painful to watch. I ought to give the later ones a try, since it supposedly improves.

It has this man in it:

Therefore, it requires watching.

Part of the problem is that SciFi Channel insisted that there be more "stand alone" episodes - the thought being that fans of BSG are much too stupid to follow multi-episode story arcs. After ratings dropped mid-season, the morons at SciFi went back to their "hands off BSG" approach.

That being said - I think 3.0 is pretty damn good, all things considering.

I need to fill in the gaps that I missed (like the entire middle of the season).
