It's On! Group Read: Hogwarts~Year Two>Chamber of Secrets
This will be more casual.
No deadlines.
No assigned chapters.
Anyone can take on a chapter when they wish.
I only have two requests.
1. That if discussion is still going on for a dissection, the next chapter holds off on being posted until the discussion dies down for two or three days before being posted.
2. That we try to space out who posts a dissection. If you just did one, wait at least three days after discussion dies down before posting the next chapter. I, for one, find different points of view stimulating.
OK...Have at it!

Well I think perhaps maybe having 10 days in between chapters should allow it to have time for more input. Hopefully there will be more input and more participation.
Or do we want to stretch it out to two weeks.
How would you prevent someone or TWO someones writing a dissection on the same chapter?
The last time we did it was fine with the Sorcerer's Stone ... I didn't mind taking on an extra chapter because I wanted to keep it going...
Lets do a sign up and see how many are interested ... perhaps the participation will be better...

If nobody has any objections I can take chapter one.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Ten years on, one imagines that Jenn must be assembling a masterwork of a Chapter One dissection...or at least nearing completion of the chapter read.
Still a faster reader than Jay.

Silly... This wasn't the thread for it, methinks.Savor Dam wrote:Ten years on, one imagines that Jenn must be assembling a masterwork of a Chapter One dissection...or at least nearing completion of the chapter read.

There is a thread she started called: 'Chamber of Secrets, Chap 1, "The Worst Birthday."'
I looked, partly because I know I've sometime forgotten responsibilities I've taken on myself, and that's kind of a sad thing.
Otoh, this reminded me that the HP subforum exists, and consequently that I surely owe a post on the "A Fanfiction 'Christian' [Satirical] Harry Potter" thread...

Thanks, Linna. I stand corrected, if not de-snarked.
Jenn actually posted the Chapter One dissection the next day...and six subsequent chapters have received the same treatment. Jenn and Zahir each have dissected three chapters, Seafoam Understone one.
Zahir returned to the Watch for a while a couple years ago after Menolly and I had dinner with him at a wonderful Levantine restaurant in Hollywood...but he's been MIA for much of the years before and since.
May 1 (tomorrow by my timeline) marks seven years that Seafoam Understone has been MIA.

That's okay; "His snark* is worse than his bite," I think saying goes.Savor Dam wrote:...corrected, if not de-snarked.
(I was being set up for that, right?)
Aww yeah... re-visiting old threads always makes for thinking of missed faces.Jenn actually posted the Chapter One dissection the next day...and six subsequent chapters have received the same treatment. Jenn and Zahir each have dissected three chapters, Seafoam Understone one.

And... huh, I was thinking Zahir had been here more recently, but... sure enough, those posts of his I remembered were from 2 years ago!
Seafoam Understone isn't someone I really got to know!
Hmmm.. people and books.
* And, in fact, there is even more snark over here in my own home than usual, as my hubbie introduced the kiddoes to "The Hunting of the Snark" the other day. (That also served as my first intro to it.) Now I can say he is LITERALLY a dispenser of snark. Well, I think.
