About those Ravers...

Post by duchess of malfi »

I have always been interested in the Ravers, three brothers of one birth, and their long lost Mother...
No, the Colossus of the Fall forbade another foe - three tree- and soil hating brothers who were old in the spoiled plains before Lord Foul cast his first shadow there. They were triplets, the spawn of one birth from the womb of their long-forgotten mother, and their names were samadhi, moksha, and turiya. They hated the Earth and all its growing things, just as Lord Foul hates all life and love. When the Colossus eased its interdict, they came to the Upper Land, and in their lust for revenge and dismay fell swiftly under the mastery of the Despiser. From that time, they have been his highest servants...
I have wondered what species these brothers belong to...can they possibly be some sort of corrupted Elohim? The fact that they seem to be rather like immortal spirits suggests that they might be...
And who or what was their mother? Their father?
And, of course, it can be no simple coincidence that they once again became triplet brothers in the flesh (if they ever had flesh in the first place). :?
Love as thou wilt.

It just occurred to me that even the Ravers don't know who their mother was!!! Mhoram learned all that when samadhi touched him. If samadhi knew who his own mother was, Mhoram should have learned that too.

I just thought of something. If they were corrupted Elohim, they wouldn't have a "mother" or a "father"...they would just "be". The Elohim are Earthpower incarnate. Maybe they were of the Viles or Demondim. They were both races of the Land before humans came.

But maybe they were corrupted so long ago, and are so far removed from their original Elohim selves, that the story of a mother is just something they sort of invented/hallucinated/imagined over the eons.
-For some reason, three of them go bad.
-The only beings like themselves are each other.
-They assume they are triplets, but have forgotten their own mother.

And the other Elohim are so ashamed that they won't tell. And it was not love for the One Forest that made the Elohim Appoint the one that became the Colossus, but guilt and shame!!!!!!

DAMN this is good!!! :LOLS:

If they were Elohim, then their mother would be Earthpower!

I'm sorry, the part where you pointed out the inconsistency in my theory didn't make it through to my computer. Could you repeat it?

PTHTHTHTHTHTHTHTH
:LOLS:

Landwaster and Fire,
Either could be viewed as correct, though they wouldn't be triplets. However, if my theory is right (:D), they simply don't remember it.

I think my bows are longer than Fist's bows :)

But what do you mean, they wouldn't be triplets?

The reason I lean toward the Viles or the Demondim is because they were in the Land already and they were seduced by Foul and the Ravers. Just seems to make sense to me that they came from one of them. Both of those races were deep in Lore. Especially the Demondim.

Anyway, something to ask SRD at Elohimfest :)

I mean there's a whole lot more than 3 Elohim.

And what do you mean by "I think my bows are longer than Fist's bows :)" :?:

Yeah but the Wurm can have a number of 'litters', though, eh? :D

You were jokingly accused before of what is proverbially called 'drawing a long bow'. :)

Hehe no worries.

Now on those Ravers, an Elohim link seems likely to me. Not dissin' the Vile/Demondim idea, but I just have my personal leaning.

How about how enlightened the Elohim seem. All-knowing, all-present, ethereal.

And moksha, turiya, samadhi ... where else have we seen those words again?

lol They are Hindu words, having to do with letting go of the ego/mind/personality/thought, which leaves only the true Self. And the true Self is indistinguishable from Brahman - their ultimate state of being; God; "The irreducible ground of existence - the essence of every thing." So these words sort of mean becoming one with God.
