Cool! Thanks for the news!
Hopefully, Rush doesn't just play, but gets to talk some as well. I've always been a fan of their sense of humor.

For those of you who read the article, and know nothing else about Rush than what the article said, I'm going to spoil some things. Alex Lifeson plays guitar and Neil Peart plays drums, while the already mentioned Geddy Lee plays bass, keys, and sings.

Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion

Like I said . . . I can take it. Keep it coming. Eventually you'll run this joke into the ground worse than Spongbob and his ripped pants.dANdeLION wrote:For those of you who read the article, and know nothing else about Rush than what the article said, I'm going to spoil some things. But it can't be any worse than hearing Rush play freakin "Tom Sawyer" for the 10,000th time.

Interesting.

you're more advanced than a cockroach,
have you ever tried explaining yourself
to one of them?

i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

Stuff you never see from Rush (but can if you buy the enhanced audio CD, the MVI version of Snakes and Arrows, which includes a making of the album)

There's lots more cool stuff. The scene where the engineer convinces Niel to completely recompose the 4 verses of The Way the Wind Blows after the song is already done and he's been playing for 8 hours is incredible. This guy is a pro. I'm glad they had some young blood in the studio to kick them in the ass and tell them when they could do it better.
Who the heck tells Neil he can do it better?!? But Neil agreed and did it over . . . the result it astounding.

Yeah, as far as "pop" songs go (meaning popular, gets radio play, recognizable by millions--not the style of Britney Spears) it really does kick ass. The solo is wonderful, something that no musician would be ashamed to call their own.The Dreaming wrote:I still like Tom Sawyer a hell of a lot more than Limelight, which I inexplicably hear more.
There's nothing wrong with Limelight. However, there is a crispness to the studio version that is lacking from every live version I've heard. Usually their songs sound *better* live, except that one.

Clips from the show.
I thought these were hilarious:
Stephen: "What are your fans called? Rushians? Do you guys have special names for your fans?"
Geddy: "Not really, no."
Neil: "They all have their own names."
Stephen: "You've been touring for over 30 years. Do you ever get tired of being so awesome and kicking so much ass?"
Geddy: "Well, that's very nice. But, no, we've gotten used to it."
Stephen: "Alright, who were your influences when you were starting out?"
Geddy: [Early years: The Who, Cream, etc. . . "Now it's so diverse it's hard to pin them down."]
Stephen: "Um, you're known for some sort of, long songs. Um, have you ever written a song so epic, that by the end of the song you were being actually influenced by yourself at the beginning of the song?"
". . . because it happened so much earlier in your career?"
Rush: nods, agrees, laughs.
Stephen: "You are yet to be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Is there any chance your next album will be called, "That's Bullshit."??
