Star Wars Clone Wars
Have you guys been visiting Aint It Cool News lately? Some weird crap going down over there. Apparently, the movie is so bad that Warner Brothers is enforcing an embargo on all reviews. I read one before it was pulled down, and it was horrible.
There are reviews available here and here, for example.
I'm not a fan of AICN. Between their reviews (which I rarely agree with) and crap like this, I find that there's very little reliable information on their site.
That said, is anyone surprised that Clone Wars stinks?

There was a preview for it when I saw Dark Knight with Lucimay and Sorus. I thought it was an add for a video game and was still confused until there was a matching coming soon poster in the hallway of the theater.

Had I done the same I would probably still enjoy the 'franchise', alas everything Lucas did post ep6 is utter rubbish.Sunbaneglasses wrote:I have decided to close my eyes, plug my ears, and put out of my mind all filmed Star Wars adventures made after 1983. Only using this strategy am I able to preserve my childhood love of the original trilogy.

Yeah. Let's face it, Lucas could do a turd, slap a Star Wars logo on it, and it'd still sell. Actually, come to think of it, he's done that three times already.kevinswatch wrote:It'll be sad to see how much money this movie makes. I bet Lucas makes a sweet penny from this trash.-jay

I've said more than once, and will no doubt say many times more, that the two Knights of the Old Republic games show how much potential there is in Star Wars, and how little of it has been used in the films. Of course, much of the setting and background for those games is taken from comics, but I think the games do a better job. I'd pay to see the Great Hyperspace War, the Mandalorian War, the Ulic/Cay Qel-Droma saga, or even a film version of the events of KOTOR 2. Star Wars has never been so dark or so menacing. I like dark and menacing.

^ While I've never played KotOR, I agree there is potential. I mean, it should be impossible to screw up a universe where people fight with blades of friggen light.

Anyway, the first two Clone Wars cartoons are very good, and some of the episodes are excellent.
Also, as is always the case, the books for Eps 1-3 are much better than the movie. Ep 3 is a freakin' fantastic book! But even parts of Ep 2 are great. I mean, with no Force ability at all, Jango Fett fights off a pretty competent Jedi. Jango is an extraordinary fighter.
The comic books of the ancient Sith Wars were great stuff too. I had so hoped that's what would end up being followed in the movies.

He did that Dlph...he gave us a nice, little montage in Revenge of the Sith. Doesn't that restore your faith in Lucas?dlbpharmd wrote:Fist and I have talked about this some. My beef is - why the hell are we getting another story about the Clone Wars? What we WANT is the story of how Vader hunts down and slaughters the remaining Jedi. Come on, Lucas, give us what we want!
