If you don't like spoilers DON'T read the article posted above.
I don't seem to mind so I read it anyway.
After reading the description I'm becoming cautiously optimistic about this film. I'm ready for ANY action/space adventure to blow me away but I'll be doubly pleased if said film is Star Trek. I won't say any more.
Those of you who are going to see Quantum of Solace this weekend will be treated to the first full length trailer for said Star Trek.
Here's hoping.

This photo was posted today. Seems JJ has opted to go for more of the "Motion Picture" version of the Enterprise with a few minor design changes.
That appears to be a shuttle craft heading toward the camera in the foreground.

The "Motion Picture" Enterprise was and remains my favorite version of the ship. This new, more "muscular" one looks all right by itself, but since we're comparing, I think it misses what I call the "classical poise" of the Motion Picture ship (notwithstanding that the new film is a "prequel"). Yes, I know, it's all subjective.

New trailer up...

Can't decide if it's going to be good or not...that opening sequence of the trailer just seems to me to be stunt for stunt's sake...

It looked really action-heavy. I don't know if that's a good thing for a Trek film.dlbpharmd wrote:Saw the trailer before QoS, and I wasn't impressed, but that's not going to keep me from seeing this flick.

Okay, everyone knows what I think of Star Trek, so take my comments with a grain of salt. But what's with calling the Romulan villain 'Nero'? First Roddenberry is 'original' enough to have the aliens to come from a planet named Romulas, they act like Romans with Roman names and now they have use another Roman name? Serious, this is ridiculous. Adding pointed ears and ridges above eyes to make us think we're looking at aliens is one thing, weak at that, but using actual historical names is weak beyond belief.
Someone tell me I'm wrong . . . .like the Romulans travelled into our past and founded the Roman empire.

I bet the real evil bad guys behind the Romulans are a Borg-like race called the Visigon.dlbpharmd wrote:Actually, they did, and they ruled much of the known world until the Huns came and killed all of those pointy-eared bastards.Loremaster wrote: Someone tell me I'm wrong . . . .like the Romulans travelled into our past and founded the Roman empire.
