Caprica is being released to DVD April 24...

Post by sindatur »

Before even airing on SciFi Channel? Starring Esai Morales as Joseph Adama and Eric Stoltz as Daniel Greystone

www.amazon.com/Caprica-Eric-Stoltz/dp/B ... 011&sr=1-1

Is this just so they can rake in cash before airing it (Like they did with Stargate Arc of Truth and Continuum), or do you have to buy this as the Pilot before they show the rest of the series?

All we need now is for 4.5 to be released.

Watched it last night.

The acting was choppy......Really choppy. The story, while somewhat hokey, managed to reign me in. It was a solid 6.5 outta 10. I'm looking forward to the series.

Looks at the calendar to verify it's April 22nd? Wasn't it's release date April 24? I know typically the relase dates are Tuesday, but....

Edit - Hmmm, guess I made a mistake, April 21 is what it says is the release date.

Amazon had it on my doorstep when I got home yesterday. I wasn't asking any questions.

I watched it over the weekend. I'm definitely intrigued we see the birth of the first Cylon, and I can envision some of the things they can do with the series as more Cylons are created and filtered into everyday life and I'm kind of excited to see that play out, especially considering what we already know about the future in BSG Proper. Unfortunately the series won't start until 2010, but, it's a go.

I didn't care for it. The back story was interesting, and will probably keep me watching, but the story itself... meh. Stolz and
Spoiler
Adama's father
were about the only strong points to it. Very, uneven, and disappointing considering BSG's pilot. I hope it's a rocky start rather than an inauspicious one.

The beginning of the show itself seemed very out of place. Normally, I'm all for gratuitous nudity, but I was wondering if I was actually watching the right show.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

The nudity, while appreciated, was rather jolting.

Definitely the nudity was over the top, but, Baltar and Six had quite the romps in the BSG Pilot, so...

And yes, the beginning was very difficult to follow, I was halfway through before I figured out what was going on, but, now that I've seen it once, I'm hoping the beginning will make more sense on a second viewing.

I really didn't care for it either. I had sort of a "who cares?" feeling throughout the whole damn thing. The bright spot for me was Polly Walker (Atia from Rome) as the school counselor.
