Fire Daughter wrote:I was talking with Anna the other day, and she had a similiar dream. She saw Uncle Steve on the beach, and when she approached him he smiled. He didn't speak to her though.

I think he just wants everyone to know that he's still with us. :)
Oh cool. :)

Trying to shake off the echo of my grandfather saying that, only in a Polish accent and saying, "Pam-eh-la, if you woke up thinking you dreamed of Stephen, then you dreamed of Stephen. nu?

Thank you, Menolly for this beautiful new avatar. |G

Home for spring break. And tho I'm so happy to be here, the house isn't as bright. I'm missing my mother. The rare morning conversations she and I would have in the breakfast nook over coffee before anyone else was awake. Her smile, her laugh, her hugs as one my one my Dad, brothers and sisters entered the kitchen. Her humming as we all set about making breakfast. The pecks on the cheek my Dad could never resist giving her.

Sigh..

I'm missing my mother...

There's a line in the Counting Crows song "Long December"

I can't remember all the times I've tried to tell myself to hold onto these moments as they pass...

If only we could bottle them and relive them whenever we wanted too.

There is a silly application on Facebook called the Status Analyzer. It retrieves your statuses and then lists what words you use most often. I went ahead and ran it, and was given the following:
  • * Used 57 times: Furls
    * Used 37 times: Love
    * Used 32 times: Watchers
    * Used 31 times: Dont
    * Used 31 times: Being
    * Used 31 times: Midst
    * Used 28 times: Those
    * Used 28 times: Day
    * Used 28 times: Life
    * Used 27 times: Pray
    * Used 27 times: Light
    * Used 27 times: Time
    * Used 27 times: Keep
    * Used 27 times: Would
    * Used 25 times: Please
    * Used 24 times: Friends
    * Used 23 times: Still
    * Used 23 times: Soul
    * Used 22 times: L-rd
    * Used 21 times: Thoughts
    * Used 21 times: Way
    * Used 19 times: Beorn
    * Used 19 times: Everyone
    * Used 19 times: Happy
    * Used 19 times: Prayers
    * Used 18 times: Wings
One of my friends used his list to generate a couple of sentences attempting to incorporate all of them. I am not a wordsmith, but I know Savor Dan enjoys word games, and he has as much love for Furls as I do. So I asked him to try to put something together for me.

I was so pleased with the results that I wanted to share it with all of you:
using the list of generated words, Savor Dam wrote:More than anything, Furls Fire – Tracie -- believed in Love. There are few Watchers who don’t intensely miss her being in our virtual midst. There are those of us who think of her every day, who try to apply to our life what her example taught us, and who pray that her light will shine for all time. Keep her in your thoughts, would you please, dear friends? Take a still moment and let your memory of her touch your soul. Though she is now with her L-rd, our thoughts of her can still help show us the way. Whether it is tonight as we sit up asking for Beorn to recover from his fever or when giving thanks for a more happy occasion, let your prayers be carried upward on the wings of the angel named Tracie.
...
Thank you, SD.

That is a sublime, moving composition by Savor Dam. It speaks for many of us, I think.

I try to hold onto my memories of Furls, too. Even though it was just through chats - words on a computer screen - that I knew her.

So, I have begun reading more diligently my mother's journals. And I think I am ready to start putting some entries up here.

I need some opinions though. Mainly, how do you all think it should be done? Should I start a new thread (which is what I was planning to do) and log in under her nickname when I go to post an entry? Or should I just post them under my nickname and post them in here?

She loved you all so much.

I recommend a new thread (to keep her journal entries separate from Stephen's.) She posted Stephen's writings under his name so you should log in using her user name - anything else will be too complicated for us to follow. ;)

I was thinking the same thing. And, I would love input on what to title the new thread, if that is what we do. :)

"Love is Glorious: the personal insight of Furls Fire"
"Love reigns Supreme: the personal insight of Furls Fire"
...or however she most commonly phrased it.

Something along those lines...

I am eager to read from your posts of Tracie's journals! We might get insight into the remarkable world of Furls .. :)

When I wrote my poem for Furls (" Benediction") I was listening to this music. I think it's a small hint of her inner beauty and the pure, sweeping grandeur that her spirit must feel now (as well as Stephen's).

Yes :)

Don't be afraid
close your eyes
lay it all down
don't you cry
can't you see I'm going
where I can see the sun rise
I've been talking to my Angel
and he says that's alright...
