5 Things You're Addicted To...

Post by Menolly »

This is actually a "Pick 5" quiz on Facebook, but considering what I answered I decided to share here. You don't have to be on Facebook to list your five things.

So, what are they?
Here are mine... ;)

The closest thing I have to an Internet addiction is the Watch. And the virtual jigsaw puzzle at denverpost.com.

In no particular order:

1. Kevin's Watch (duh!)
2. Music
3. Low Carb Monsters (meaning the drinks, not dieting creatures under my bed)
4. Exercise
5. Eastern Philosophy

I won't risk trivializing my daughter's special place in my heart by putting her on this list...
... nobody I know.

I noticed that. ;) However, none of your addictions make my list....

The first step in conquering any addiction is to admit you have it. Of course, I have no intention of ever trying to conquer my chocolate addiction. I NEED my chocolate...I can't live without it!!!

If you think about it real hard, Wednesday is an odd Sunday.

For those wondering why I'm so addicted to "So You Think You Can Dance?"

This...is why:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKxoCxalyWw

Choreographed by Tyce DiOrio. It's a dance depicting a woman's struggle with breast cancer. And being a breast cancer survivor myself, I thought it was one of the most beautiful dances I have ever seen...if not the most beautiful.

Side note: I love the song as well, "This Woman's Work", originally done by Kate Bush, performed here by Maxwell.
And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

I'm well aquainted with self doubt myself. I'm constantly wondering if what I'm doing at the moment is what I should be doing.

All part of being human, I guess. :)

I was more going for the play on words. "Sure" about "doubt."

ba-DUM-bum

But if you want to take is seriously... As it happens, I don't have the slightest self doubt. Go figure. I don't doubt for a second that I'm imperfect. I just don't care. I do what I can, try to learn from my mistakes, yadda yadda. I've never even doubted moving out and getting a divorce. Even now, almost five years later, the grief and guilt can stop me in my tracks. But even when it happened, when the grief and guilt were so overwhelming they played a part in me being in the hospital for a few days, I didn't have any doubts about it.

It's kind of a superpower, really. I am the Doubtless!!! :D I don't get headaches, either. For any reason. I haven't had one in a good thirty years. I can drink a Slushy/Mr. Misty/whatever as fast as I want, and no brain freeze. (Please try to avoid the obvious joke, folks.)
