*jot* and then where? :D

Ok from memory, when he gets off the watch, they head west? along the ledge, and then there's a crevice heading south?

Then there's some other thing, it reminded me of a crevice again? Dunno which direction it went, and that took us to the glade where the hurtloam was.

I dunno, that's just how my memory serves me.

After that I think they went back to the crevice, then some other direction, which came out in the hills above Mithil, and from there it was either west? or north-west? to get to the stonedown?

In this ability, I'm at the other end of the spectrum from Hile Troy. He can hear a description of it and get a perfect picture in his head. I'm so bad at it that I don't even bother trying. I hardly ever even look at the maps in these kinds of books. Since joining this site, I've gotten to know it a bit more, because of reading all the posts. Before that, I went 20+ years with not the slightest clue where anything was.

LOL ... I'm reasonably Troyesque, a good navigator. One of my few qualities.

That's an absolutely hysterical wording!!!! A being with no qualities other than a good grasp of spatial relationships! :LOLS:

I'm chuckling and yet I'm not sure why. Why's that so special? Hehe. One must make do with what one has :)

I meant that you didn't say, "One of my few good qualities", "few favorite qualities", "few better qualities" or anything like that. Just one of your few qualities. You're practically non-existent!!

(Ok, I may be the only one who's gonna find this hysterical. Won't be the first or last time that happens. :) )

Ahhh ... well I just meant it was one of my few qualities ... I have HEAPS of disgracefulities! :S

Anyways, why question still stands. If anyone happens to recall the directions that Lena led TC through the mountains from KW to MS, I'd be most grateful!

West along a ledge until you reach a cluttered ravine. Up the ravine, then down a rough-hewn stair in the side of a sharp cut which branches away into the mountain. Continue along the bottom of the cut while it narrows overhead. The cut turns sharply to the left and opens into a small valley with a stream running through the centre and tall pines around the edges. Follow the stream to the bottom of the valley, then head down a crooked file which runs between sheer walls for a couple of hundred yards, until until you come to a crevice that ascends to the right away from the stream. Follow the crevice upwards and it levels then begins to slope downwards, until it opens on the mountainside facing west overlooking the river valley. The path then heads south, descending toward the valley floor. The trail finally heads down a long hill to the river then swings north along it. The path follows the river as it widens until you reach the Stonedown.

As far as I can tell, the lake below revelstone is simply called 'the lake'. I do not recall another name ever being given.

Here's another one ... the plain between the Plains of Ra and Mount Thunder ... that had a name didn't it? Most of the older wars were fought there, and it was drenched with blood. TC got caught in a storm there, when on the Q4tSoL ... with Mhoram and Prothall and Co.

Any ideas?

Here's yet another one ... that "door" or ward within the path to Earthroot that Amok got them through, the one that led them to an area they couldn't previously see, did that have a name?

The door is Damelon's Door, entry way to the Power of Command.

the Plain between the plains of Ra and Treacher's Gorge is called "The Battle Plain" in "The Atlas of the Land".

Hey thanks Furls! Ok I've found a way to not ask so many questions :) I've gone to you guyses Dissecting The Land board, and am reading some wonderful descriptions of where everything is and what its called :)

Damelon's Door / Audience Hall of Earthroot / Aisle Of Approach / Earthrootstair / Sunless Lake etc etc

Cool, shouldah thought of that earlier :D
