This show is absolutely riveting and very very sad. I think everyone tries to control their environments and for these people that need to control has gone awry. Especially scary is Jill, a food hoarder.

A valid question. I can only speak for myself. Since I am in social services it fascinates me to look at the process of recovery. The behavior of hoarding is very similar to other addictions, and as I mentioned above, it is in my opinion an issue of controlling our environments. Yes, there is a voyeuristic element to watching a show like this, or any show that intrudes on the privacy of an individual, but without the theraputic aspect of the show it would hold no interest for me.wayfriend wrote: My second thought is, at what point do we admit we're entertaining ourselves with the misery of others?
