Your musical avatar.
What song is the best representation of your personality, or if you were a song what song would you be.
I think I would be AGAIN by Alice in Chains.

"Gifted and Talented" - Clutch
I graduated in 1993.
I never demonstrated much of my ability.
I was a good boy but I was much too smart for my own good.
Teachers said I was gifted and quite talented.
Do you have an extra quarter?
Got to get to class tomorrow.
All is fair in Asbury.
Make my way into Berkeley.
When I was seven, I stared in to the monitor.
And found my best friend
Mr. Commodore 64.
Daddy bought me an international business machine
And with it I compromised national security.
Do you have an extra quarter?
Got to get to class tomorrow.
All is fair in Asbury.
Make my way into Berkeley.
What the hell ya savin' for?
I'm gonna start the third world war.
Hanging with the punks in the gutters I have found
Most of them are gifted and talented as well.
Oh brotha could you spare a dime?
(If a quarter you do not have)
Been running from the Marshall Man
Since I broke into NORAD.
But it's working out so well.
The beggar's life is swell.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion

That's some song, dAN.
I haven't heard of the song nor the artist before.
Off the top of my head, I think The Moody Blues Your Wildest Dreams works best for me at the moment...
...only I am starting the memories.

hmmm. well... this occurs to me,
but the whole song is not...me. gosh. i think i'll have to think on this some more.WITH MY HEAD IN A SONG AND A SONG IN MY HEAD
JUST LET ME LIVE UNTIL I’M DEAD
THERE’S SO MANY BOOKS I WISH I’D READ
LIKE WAR AND PEACE
SO MANY FRIENDS I’VE WON AND LOST
SO MANY MASKS I’VE WORN AND TOSSED
INTO TROUBLED WATERS I COULD NOT CROSS
AND THE RIVER IS ME, AND THE RIVER IS ME
you're more advanced than a cockroach,

where they get upset about the [size of my]

cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

Either that or the guitar part in Is There Anybody Out There? by Pink Floyd.Sitting on a park bench
eyeing little girls with bad intent.
Snot running down his nose
greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes.
Drying in the cold sun
Watching as the frilly panties run.
Feeling like a dead duck
spitting out pieces of his broken luck.
Sun streaking cold
an old man wandering lonely.
Taking time
the only way he knows.
Leg hurting bad,
as he bends to pick a dog-end
he goes down to the bog
and warms his feet.

THRASHER by Neil Young is probably mine:
They were hiding behind hay bales,
They were planting in the full moon
They had given all they had for something new
But the light of day was on them,
They could see the thrashers coming
And the water shone like diamonds in the dew.
And I was just getting up, hit the road before it's light
Trying to catch an hour on the sun
When I saw those thrashers rolling by,
Looking more than two lanes wide
I was feelin' like my day had just begun.
Where the eagle glides ascending
There's an ancient river bending
Down the timeless gorge of changes
Where sleeplessness awaits
I searched out my companions,
Who were lost in crystal canyons
When the aimless blade of science
Slashed the pearly gates.
It was then I knew I'd had enough,
Burned my credit card for fuel
Headed out to where the pavement turns to sand
With a one-way ticket to the land of truth
And my suitcase in my hand
How I lost my friends I still don't understand.
They had the best selection,
They were poisoned with protection
There was nothing that they needed,
Nothing left to find
They were lost in rock formations
Or became park bench mutations
On the sidewalks and in the stations
They were waiting, waiting.
So I got bored and left them there,
They were just deadweight to me
Better down the road without that load
Brings back the time when I was eight or nine
I was watchin' my mama's T.V.,
It was that great Grand Canyon rescue episode.
Where the vulture glides descending
On an asphalt highway bending
Thru libraries and museums, galaxies and stars
Down the windy halls of friendship
To the rose clipped by the bullwhip
The motel of lost companions
Waits with heated pool and bar.
But me I'm not stopping there,
Got my own row left to hoe
Just another line in the field of time
When the thrashers comes, I'll be stuck in the sun
Like the dinosaurs in shrines
But I'll know the time has come
To give what's mine.
fall far and well Pilots!

You poor old sod,
Feeling miserable,
feeling down,
you've seen the pogues
life must be good
foc---us on the gooood,
the friends,
the internet acquaintances,
....
look in the mirror,
give a smile,
it could be wor-ur-ur-urse!

Change Myself - todd

Change Myself - todd
If I want more peace in the world
Then I must make peace with myself
If I want more trust in the world
Then I've got to trust in myself
If I want more love in the world
I must show more love to myself

I love it. But yes, you caught me...I wasn't serious. I've been trying to work out what would be the best, and I think I have come up with something. It would need to be a mash-up of the songs Slow Dance With Boba Fett by Danger Bob (which you can download for free at the link) and You're Too Beautiful from Foolish Sad Robot (lyrics follow). Both are local bands from when I was in college, strangely enough. Those that have known me for some time will understand why both fit pretty well.
You're Too Beautiful - Foolish Sad Robot
I like my nowhere job
You're wanting a career
You're out scamming for a mountain man
And I can't even hold a beer
When I'm drawing inward
I think you want to cuss me out
If you're the Dutchess of Ostentatious
Then I'm the Duke of Doubt
You look sexy when you smoke
I chew gum and almost choke
I hope I get you to laugh this hard
The next time I remember a joke
You're too beautiful
I feel sad for you
You say you've had a rough life
Mine's been pretty soft
At least up until the time when you and I tried to hit it
Off
You've heard pick up lines from many guys
You can pick anyone
I don't know whether to feel lucky
Or just too nervous to have much fun
You sound confident
I'm already spent
I had ears to hear your whole life story
But I don't know where they went
You're too beautiful
I feel sad for you
Sad for me too
You get me smiling when you read to me
I've heard you emphasize
The little voice - that's the wildebeast
The hedgehog one - that's high
I've known you for nine hours
Last night since I don't know when
We've had our ups and downs
But now I hope we're up for ten
You tell me that I'm smart
Fun to hang out with
But when you get to the part where you say I'm a nice guy
I'm already catching the drift
You're too beautiful
I feel sad for you
Sad for me too

Life is a waste of time
Time is a waste of life
So get wasted all of the time
And you'll have the time of your life

Its been various music/songs/genres at different stages of my life too many to sum up into one. Lately I'd go with Clapton's, Let it Grow...................or : " A Pirate looks Back at Forty" by Jimmy Buffett which in actual fact it is!

"Winston, if you were my husband I'd give you poison" ................ "Madam, if you were my wife I would drink it!"
"Terrorism is war by the poor, and war is terrorism by the rich"
"A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well."
"The opposite of pro-life isn't pro-death. Y'know?"
"What if the Hokey Cokey really is what its all about?"
