[Mr. Broken]

One of the many pieces of wisdom that can be found within the chronicles has to do with titles, their tendency to be prophetic, the danger of bestowing them, and the danger of taking one for yourself. When I first joined the watch I did so under the name of Something Broken, which I later changed to Mr. Broken. I took the name because at the time my band(also called Something Broken) was doing pretty well , and since I was the front man the name seemed appropriate. Much like Covenants experience with his own early works I would learn too late to regret my arrogance, my ignorance. When the band broke up I was devestated, and in my own estimation once again earned the title I had claimed for myself. Mr. Broken. It was then I learned like Covenant to ride it out, prophecies continue to fulfill themselves, time passes and statements take on new meanings. Even words take on new meanings , a word as simple as broken can mean several different things, yes it can mean ruined, destroyed, or needing repair, but it can also simply mean divided. As you can see from my new avatar I have been divided, broken in two. I claim my title with pride.

Nicely spoken, Mr. Broken. Life works in mysteeeeerios ways. But surely by now you know that love doesn't divide, it multiplies: keep your name if it means something to you, but I hope you realize you aren't broken, you're just refurbished.

It seems to me that with names like Mr Broken and Something Broken you were in some way wishing upon yourself those very circumstances that the lables implied. Clearly from the picture, life has demonstrated to you that IT will be the judge of how your path is going to proceed and IT alone will decice your fate. The beauty and tenderness of the picture shows that you no longer have the need for (potentially self fulfilling) melodramatic titles in your life - you have bigger fish to fry and greater responsibilities than to yourself. Be Lucky.

Ahh! I think I finally understand something, its taken me a couple of years of posting here but I think Ive fallen victim to a self imposed case of mistaken identity and I would like to take a minute to clear things up. Im not broken, and I never meant to make anyone think that I might be. I can see why my choice of names might lead someone to believe I have self esteem issues, I dont, at least not any more than anybody else.
My original name on the Kevinswatch was Something Broken, but I only took it as homage to Donaldson. Many of the posters, in fact most of the posters here do, but all the cool names like Cail, and Esmer, Dromond, seemed to be taken. So since my favorite Covenant quote is the one about giving back something broken I went with it. Thus proving once again the dangers of assuming titles.
