Well, I might could help w/that...I know a comp sci major who's always wanted to create and program a MUD...I was talking to him about the chrons over the new LoTR RP character gen session, and he said he'd be glad to work on it...I told him about the basic layout of the classes and such, no spoilers (I may be able to get him to read the books) but yeah, I thought it might be fun...

I exist

...

?...

Umm, yeah... just though I'd say that I... ummm, here I am. I've never really actually programmer a MUD, though I've always wanted to get around to one, just didn't have the energy to build the world and characters, yada yada. I know C and C++ (not played with obj-C though), Java, Scheme, Perl, Bash Scripts, BASIC, Adda, and some other minor things from here or there. My biggest area of expertise is in C++ and Scheme (or other popular Lisp variants), though I could easily do C (which I have a feeling is the language you'll prolly want me to use... -_-;; oie! How I despise it, yet am forced against all my moral sense to use it.) I can use a CVS server and have a linux red hat partition ready (as well as cygwin). Or, if you're going the windows-route I have VC++EE 6 and Winsock libraries ready to go. I don't really know how much you guys already have planned/hard-coded/pseudo-coded, uhh, but I'm ready for anything! *gets in fighter stance*

Rwor, and yeah, I'll try picking up a book and reading the material. Fun-stuff!

OK, I'm really ignorant - but I have no idea what this thread is about. My apologies, but would someone enlighten me?

Ahhh....
kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... d&start=15

See, "fightingformyinstincts", (In real life), came into my room saturday night during a LoTR char gen session I was hosting. Anyways, she told me about the chronicles, and having never heard of the books, I was interested. Then, err, I don't really remember exactly what she said, but something about a MUD. I think I got the impression that THIS site was designing a MUD, and I said that I would love to help doing something like that, considering that I had always wanted to program one myself. Then I dug around the boards and found this~ Just wondering, is such a MUD still active or in production? The sites' last update was several months ago... ; '

Ahh, well, I was just a bit confused about it, and I'm sure some others were about my post as well. Ahh, well, if the people designing this mud are still around, here's a shout-out: I'm willing to help!~ Rwor!
