Anyone else watching this. I'm quite enjoying the show particularly the second half of the first season. There some sleepers early on.
The basic story is that a group of scientists and military personel are traped on a starship more than a billion miles from Earth. They got their traveling through a Stargate (as seen on the prior incarnations of Stargate, SG-1 and Atlantis). This series drops a lot of the camp that was in the other two Stargate series. It's more about character than plot. I think it is well done and look forward to many more years of SGU.

The baby stuff was interesting, but the rest was way too predictable.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I quite like the mood/tone, especially since so much different than the source material. It's getting better...but so far the acting/scripting isn't living up to the concept. [w/some exceptions.]

the hyperbole is a beauty...for we are then allowed to say a little more than the truth...and language is more efficient when it goes beyond reality than when it stops short of it.

Vraith,
I think the acting by Robert Carlyle and Louis Ferreria has been top notch. The core of the show, to me, is the tension between the Rush and Young Characters. Both flawed, both striving for different sometimes opposing goals.
The Season 2 premire wasn't perfect. I wish they'd spent more time with the people marooned on the planet. However, it's not a bad start to the second season.
