Boardwalk Empire
Awesome show. Creative freedom unhindered by the FCC. Steve Buscemi is amazing in this role. Very interesting time in history.

Jelerak, I was a bit disappointed by the outcome, though I think it was done very well.
Null, the character is Richard Harrow, who appropriately enough lost half his face in the hell of war, though I don't recall the actor's name. He's an interesting guy, but so far, at least he largely stands in the Dormady character's shadow.

I'm having trouble imagining where they're going to go from here. Nucky's reaction will be awesome. Harrow will be seeking revenge, on Manny at least, and probably Nucky. And I have to think it's going to turn more towards the Luciano/Capone angle unless they introduce some new players. Not sure what role, if any, Dormady's mom is going to have now, with both him and his dad out of the picture, though she will have a lot of clout through Dormady's kid (unless the housekeeper gets involved
). As for the incest (who can blame him, really? I kid, I kid), damn. I didn't expect them to go full on Oedipus Rex.

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Richard Harrow is played by Jack Huston, who (if I have heard correctly) is Angelica Huston's nephew, or something along those lines.

I too have a hard time imagining where season 3 may go. I was genuinely shocked that Nucky killed Jimmy. I now have a sense of how people who did not know about Ned's demise must have felt in the Baelor episode in game of Thrones. It was that shocking to me. Nucky chose to believe Eli rather than Jimmy...I figured that he would see through Eli's lies. Richard will be large influence in Jimmy's sons development as a child. I have heard one rumor that season 3 may jump ahead a few years where his son has come of age with Richard as a mentor figure. I have no idea if that will be true or not, but it could lead to an interesting dynamic. They could then leap all the way to where Capone comes in as a major player. Who knows, it is all just speculation at this point. Either way, Nucky is going to seriously be one pissed off SOB!
