Yes excellent review!
I give it 8 out of 10.
I have no problem separating a movie from a book. Ove the long years of my movie and book-reading experience, I have come to 'discipline' myself and go in to each as a separate entity. The movie does a good job at displaying everything in a manner that one does not need to read the book to understand everything. I will mention a couple minor points though ... if you have not read the books, you will not get a deep sense of exactly HOW much the elves are treated, so the final bit of bravado that Dobby delivers to Belatrix does not have the power it does in the book (despite the overly dramatic music).
Another quibble about the movie is the cutting. I find it frustrating that many movies feel they have to use quick cuts to (seemingly) increase action. Not the case. It's really lazy directing/editing. One main point in the movie was the scene
where Harry is attacked by V's big snake. After the second (surprise?) attack from the stairs and one of the kids blasts it with fire and then there is an explosion and widows break and --- well, really, I had little idea what the frik happened? Was the snake dead? ... I have no idea.
Bad editing. Bad movie making.
However, overallit was really well done. The part where some Snatchers (almost) find Hermione ... really well shot. The moments where they were on the run ... really well done. I had the overall urge to skip so many pages when reading the book at that part that I was cursing JK for over-indulgence. However, the movie felt right. Exactly to the point Zahir made in his (?) review.
All the cast is AMAZING, and it is especially amazing of this franchise that it has kept all the actors, even when they are only required for a couple of scenes.
Yep, I really liked this movie. They made a really smart decision in breaking this in to two movies, AND without making it seem like stretching it. It was a complete movie and can't wait for the conclusion.
