The Meaning of the Last Dark

Post by SkurjMaster »

Somewhere in here there was a discussion of the meaning of the title The Last Dark. One thoughtful Watcher suggested that the meaning is that of 'the last mystery.' I got impatient trying to track that down, so please forgive me. But....

I would offer that if this is true, given that SRD, in the Gradual Interview, has said that SWMNBN really MUST NOT BE NAMED and that that would have consequences akin to shattering the arch of time, I put forward that the Last Dark IS the name of SWMNBN.

Not sure if this is original.

As far as planting flags in the sand, its all for fun, right? After 6 years of " theories" with the TV show LOST,,I can only suggest, to keep it ..fun.

Yes..SWMNBN represents a mystery...but only in appellation. We know what it looks like, its composition, its actions, etc etc..No fun there..So the only mystery is its..name,,that has the encumbrance of must not be named...said out loud..acknowledged.? Seems to me its name is " HATE". I mean..the absolute black hole of HATE. Not a good habit to use the word Hate a lot in thinking or talking...imho. So..TLD seems to me to be a even bigger Mystery than the name of SWMNBN. It is quite possible tho..in overcoming SWMNBN ,,what is on the other side of naming it,,an open ended Mystery awaits. Love.

Okay,,theres my flag in the sand. Notice I keep it general enough to cover a lot of possibilities. Respecting the author's talents and abilities has to be considered when planting flags.
If she withdrew from exaltation, she would be forced to think- And every thought led to fear and contradictions; to dilemmas for which she was unprepared.
