Dan Simmons- Good Idea or Bad?
I'm planning ahead for after I'm done with Malazan in March. I've read Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion and thought they were friggin fantastic. Of course, my issue is... it may have been too fantastic... as in I'm not sure I want to read any of his other books. I'll finish up the series (I got Endymion and The Rise of Endymion), but how is his other stuff?

Finish the Hyperion series, I was wary of the Endymion books at first, but they are well worth it. I was nonplussed about Ilium-it was sort of a fun story-but no where near worthy of the Hyperion Cantos. His horror-like books like Carrion Comfort and The Terror are very good, but not Sci-Fi. His short story collection A Prayer for the Broken Stones is very good, but a couple of the stories are just bat-shit weird...
fall far and well Pilots!
