Hey guys. I'm a Flat Earth Pagan. While also atheists, we Flat Earth Pagans espouse the belief that since the universe is arguably a flat plane in elliptical shape then that means the earth is even flatter (and also an elliptical, scarily enough). This constant reappearance of the elliptical shape in the cosmos draws one obviously to the Ptolemaic system, which stressed a series of elliptical-shaped firmaments or "spheres" that led up to heaven, with the earth at the center of the universe. Coincidence? No.

Basically the earth is 6,000 years old, and while I don't believe it was created by a God per se I'm pretty sure there was a sentient being or some kind of simulation-machine that activated all of this. Why? Because dinosaur bones were obviously put in the ground by another scientist working as a joke, since it's obvious there's no way such large beings could have existed.

Thoughts?

I'd like to hear from other creationists how you see the earth's time-line of existence and how it fits in the framework of your holy book of choice.

Forsooth! Surely there's a wide dispersion of belief sets (a gamut of hard-line Catholics, neo-Pagans and those of us who vacillate between disbelief or agnosticism)? Those who I've seen defend the Bible stridently I might imagine wouldn't disagree with its strict time-line.

Think about it.
What is a map?
It's a drawing of the Earth.
Maps are almost always flat!
And what is the age of the oldest flat map?
Roughly around 6000 years old.
That's totally whack!

Check out Google Earth.
It's supposed to be "3D".
But look at Google Earth on your screen, touch it with your fingers.......it's FLAT!
You can't explain that.

Water proves the existence of the creator

Is Creationism just where you believe there was the involvement of a 'Creator' somwhere in the scheme of things - even if it was just to set the (for example) Laws of Physics in motion so the Universe could be formed, or does it have to be where you deny i) the evolution of species from a common origin, ii) the age of the earth as being in the billions of years, and affirm iii) that the earth was created in seven (24 hour) days as per the biblical account in Genesis.

Also (if it's not too far of topic) I'm reading Stephen Hawking's new book "The grand Design" and he says in the second paragraph of whether the Universe needed a Creator, "Traditionally these are questions for philososophy, but philosophy is dead. Philosophy has not kept up with modern developments in science, particularly physics."

What do you guys think of that - given particularly that it comes from what has to be one of the smartest men alive?

I'd say he's wrong...there is a metric f-load of philosophy engaging with science, including physics.

Anyway, I was expecting someone to ask for the definition of a metric f-load, or how one weighs philosophy. FWIW, Creationism is governed by the basic equations E=MCsquared, where E is egregiousness, M is malaprops, a measure of actual science used in inappropriate ways, C is "Chestertons," a constant standing for the velocity of verbiage in a vacuum.

I agree that the earth is flat, LF, but I propose that it exists on both sides of the plane!

The northern hemi"sphere" is on top, the southern on the bottom, with the poles in the middle. The only way to get from one side to the other is to pass through the bipolar warpway.
