Best of luck, balon! They'll probably give you some real good drugs as parting gifts -- enjoy!

Not sure why you want to remove your wisest teeth ... but take care and feel better soon. (I was fortunate and never had any wise teeth.)

I still have 2. They didn't give me anything good to go home with. Actually, they may have offered but I can't do codeine, it feels too weird. It'll only bother for a couple days.

Good luck.

Also, I am not sharing the horror story of what happened to me when I had mine out. You're welcome.

Hope it went well. Only had one of mine out, when it got all painful and crap. Not fun.

Had all four of mine taken out at once. Vomited and went out to play baseball. Didn't hit a single pitch. Is that what you want, balon!? To be a terrible baseball player? Think about what you're doing, man!

(Now, friends at the time will make the claim that I sucked at baseball before I got my wisdom teeth removed, but I could hit like Curt Schilling!)

When I was 8 they took them out. Now showing my age........they actually put this cone thing on my face and dripped ether on it. I remember them telling me if I was a good girl I could have all the ice cream I wanted afterword. But my luck, the ice cream machine was broken (they said 8) ) so I ate mashed potatoes instead.

Good luck on your procedure.

thank you so much guys, this is the best to wake up to.

I don't remember falling asleep, but I woke up just fine.

My face feels alright, they gave me hydrocodone, so I've been laying around watching Star Wars... :D :D

Grats on coming through unscathed.

I think I posted my horror story here somewhere already, so the short version is: waited too long, dentist was inept, inept dentist = bad, bad = permanent nerve damage.

Yikes!!! I had mine out over a two week period. They did the right side first and the left side second. Two of mine had grown in enough that they ruined my five years of braces and the other two were impacted. My upper right had grown in and my lower left. During the drilling out of the impacted one on my left the novacain wore off and I grabbed my dentist's forearm and he froze and looked at what must have been a horrible look in my eyes and said, "You can FEEL that????" I think I nodded because he immediately gave me another shot. All I really remember is that it was like horrible screeching in my head and then all of a sudden it felt like every nerve in my body was on fire, even my toes curled up and knotted and it was absolutely some of the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. Anyway, the second surgery I told them about the vicadan making me throw up so they gave me some percoset?percodan? and that made me throw up too so I just suffered through the pain which only lasted about two days and honestly it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I went to work the next day anyway. Just make sure you keep the wounds clean. My sister had hers out and one got infected and she was absolutely miserable beyond belief and then the pustule burst in her mouth and she retched for hours and then ended up with dry socket so she has a permanent dent in her gum from it. You can't see it of course but it's there.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Sheesh, my sister kept getting infections in her mouth for a couple months afterwards. She was always going back to have her sockets drained and she ended up using all the painkillers they prescribed her plus the painkillers I never used for my post wisdom teeth removal recovery.

Women always seem to get the worst end of wisdom teeth removal.

Congrats on coming through unscathed. Isn't it weird to bite down and realize that your teeth have shifted ever so slightly? Don't worry, you get used to it :D

I'm pretty sure I'm one of the lucky ones who has no wisdom teeth. Though I'm only just out of the usual range you get them, so it's not entirely out of the question. I read somewhere it's more likely if you've had missing teeth before, and I had a premolar that never grew in.
