Roland Deschain of Gilead, hands down :)

Close second, Father Donald Callahan

Then:

Jake Chambers of New York
Suzannah Dean of New York
Eddie Dean of New York
Ben Mears of Jerusalem's Lot
Mark Petrie of Jerualem's Lot
Oy of Mid-World
Jack Sawyer of California/"The Terratories"
Matt Burke of Jerusalem's Lot
Susan Delgado of Mejis
Cuthbert Allgood of Gilead
Alaine Johns of Gilead

As I read more of his books...I'm sure my list will grow :)
And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

~this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you~

...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.

Flagg in any form. Alan Pangborn, George Stark (he's NAUGHTY), the creature from Desperation.

That about sums it up.

Seafoam Understone says: Randall Flagg R-O-C-K-S! :evilfoul:

I agree with him that the Walkin' Dude is one of the baddest (is that really a word?) villians in SK novels. :evilfoul:

I've always been partial to John Smith myself.

A truly tragic character.
Every man is my superior, in that, I may learn from him.

Best character - Roland

After that, Nick Andros from The Stand. Several of the characters in IT. Charlie McGee's father in Firestarter, whose first name escapes me.

Lewis Creed in Pet Sematary.

Dennis in Christine.

Paul and John Coffey in The Green Mile.

Randall Flagg in all his guises.

Ted Brautigan in Low Men in Yellow Coats.

Delores Claiborne.

Annie Wilkes in Misery.

Awww, there's a million of 'em. Characterization is one of King's greatest strengths.
