We're not ignoring you but we get easily distracted when it comes to Linden. We've taken our (good-natured) bickering over here for now. Expect it to flare up in many other places as the final decision on Linden approaches in October  Come and join in the fun!

We get easily distracted when it comes to anything. We're probably one of the most off-topic forums there is. :D

I believe there is at least one thread for talking about going off-topic. If you want to talk about how MUCH off-topic we are compared to other fora, start your own thread.

This thread is to chat about re-summoning the summonsing back to the KW index.

It says so right at the top. "Kevin's Watch Forum Index->The Summonsing> Re-summonsed back to Kevin's Watch."

I think we should do so, and give it a warm re-welcoming.
Something Menollistic, perhaps.

Which, I think, is one of KW's great strengths; makes it really hard to troll the forum. You gotta be highly creative to be as imaginatively off-topic as someone like the Sarge or Ms. Mary

P.S. Are we on or off topic now? :D

Only admins and mods.

Why would you want it locked? You know, you earn WGD every time somebody posts in a thread you created... ;)

Very well, esteemed co-mod, I've donated a few so you'll have a round figure.

You know how much I enjoy doing that.

hmmm....I just glanced at some numbers in your little side-box...
and, all things considered, you really don't seem to have that many WGD's.
I wonder if you're quite as committed as you claim...
you certainly aren't the white gold yet...
how many threads would Kasryn have launched?
how many pitches, so to speak?

I disagree with outright asking on threads or spamming via PM to request WGDs, unlike others. That's just not the way I roll. However, if someone should say they have no use for their WGDs, I will let them know I have a certain goal in mind.

Not that I expect to ever achieve it. But as I have said before, it's about the journey to attain it, rather than the goal itself.

The jury will note that in the instance upthread, Sffasia never intimated in any way that he did not have a use for WGD. He merely appeared unaware that they accrue to the OP of a thread as others post to it, so Av pointed this out...and the Lady swooped in with her kind offer to relieve Sffasia of the burden of his WGD.

A little bit of Ring math yields this:
  • 483,928 + 131,013 = 614,941wgds*
That's a whole lot closer to a White Gold Ring. This may have been suggested before, but how about a joint account called something like 'White Gold Wielder' where all the efforts aimed at securing the Ring could be combined.

As a symbol of my enthusiasm for such an endeavour I've just donated 1,000wgds to you, Menolly

One figure is yours and the other is the person with the more direct style of wgd gathering (Jenn). (I've had a couple of her PMs over the last two years  )

Sffasia, now that we have ceased the debate about the merits of a certain SRD character, do you notice how much less off-topic your thread has become?

I now see this thread as a way to inducting Sffasia more fully into the world of KW with all its endearing quirks and intricate eccentricities, so, as far as I'm concerned we're very on topic

There is also one particular Watcher who has 80,000+wgds and no particular attachment to them, AFAIK. If the joint account got their hands on those, the total towards the ring would be approx:
  • 700,000WGDS
You'd be within goal-kicking distance of getting the Ring!

Yes, but...

Keep in mind both ~jay and Av have threatened the cost of the white gold ring will go up if anyone actually ever approaches attaining it. I am striving for it, hoping those two, as well as danlo and anyone else with the power to raise the cost, may be asleep at the wheel at the time. But it still truly is more about the journey towards the goal rather than attaining the goal for me.
