A small post to say a BIG thankyou.

[polite request guys; this is not a pro/anti vivisection post. This is what it says.]

It occurs to me that we owe a big debt of gratitude to those animals who found their way into our laboratories and places of study and who bought us the advances that in turn buy us our lives on a daily basis.

So can we just spend a little time remembering the dogs who demonstrated that blood circulates in our bodies, the beagles who smoked cigarettes so we might understand that we should not, the mice who grew ears on their backs so we could understand we had the power to make cells do our bidding.

To all of you big or small, fair or ugly, warm or cold, your sacrifice is not forgotten, not in vain and not without meaning. You have our gratitude.

I hope some of you will join me in this.

I used to work in an animal testing lab. Horrible experience, something I am not proud of. Very sad stuff. I try not to buy things tested on animals.... trying to make amends.

That makes more sense to me.
"Thank you's" only carry meaning if the thanked had some kind of awareness/choice.
So I'd say grief, guilt, and amends is more appropriate.
