Halloween Costumes

Post by Brinn »

The wife and I are huge Halloween fans and tend to do at least one elaborate costume every year either for me, the wife or our son. Some of my favorites over the years have been Pinhead from Hellraiser (Me), Billy the Puppet from Saw (my son), Marie Antoinette (my wife), Zipper face (my wife), Freddie Kreuger (me), and The Miner from My Bloody Valentine (my son). This year I'm doing a fully functioning Iron Man (can't seem to get it to fly though!) I posted some of these pics to the Album. Hope you enjoy.

If you've done any cool Halloween costumes over the years please post your ideas or photos.[/img]
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. Usually it's just our daughter who dresses up, and this year it's nothing scary again - she's going to be a unicorn. :)

I'm 45 years old and still go to Halloween parties every year. Can't seem to get it out of my system!

Hi Brinn.
I'm a huge fan of Halloween too.
I've bought several costumes and props from:
www.halloweenasylum.com and had fantastic customer service too.
And they are based in Mass.

Pickings are pretty slim this year.
Target just has a fraction of stuff compared to what they had 3 years ago.
Same with Michaels.
Even Spirit looks very light of selections and stock.
Usually they have a theme, if they do this year I don't know what it is.

Thanks HLT. I'll check out the link. We have a place near us called the Halloween outlet and I tend to do a lot of stuff with latex and other homemade effects. Check out the Hellraiser costume I posted in the Motley Crew. It was done from scratch with real roofing nails and latex. The only thing that wasn't made was the suit which I purchased off the web and then repainted myself. Let me know what you think.

Very nice!
I want to explore more of the makeup side one of these years.
I do more propwork, figure frames using PVC with maskes and costumes, lighting and sound. I try to setup my whole front yard and line the driveway with horror.
I do the scary stuff. No happy Halloween for me! lol

I line the driveway and make kids take their candy from a bowl on a table. Next to the table is me in costume standing still along with a few other props so they have no idea which one is real.
Then I scare the crap out of them.
It's a lot of fun.
My kids are getting into it as well, after they go trick or treating of course.

Awesome Iron Man suit. Can't believe you haven't put it on yet (or posted a pic of you wearing it).

I love the night and dress-up...but I haven't done anything very elaborate for several years.
The last one I did that I thought was pretty cool was a Drow Elf. Lots of make-up to get all the pitch black skin and pure white hair. Had it pretty well accessorized, too.
Funny thing one year everyone was doing military-type stuff...ho hum...I did a quick bad one for it BUT...when we went out to our usual hang-out, they wouldn't let one of our peeps in the door with a bright green squirt gun. Yet they let me in with REAL KNIVES strapped on my forearms in plain sight.

the difference between evidence and sources: whether they come from the horse's mouth or a horse's ass.
"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."
the hyperbole is a beauty...for we are then allowed to say a little more than the truth...and language is more efficient when it goes beyond reality than when it stops short of it.

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I always want to dress up, but I never actually get around to it.

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing

The eyes have small spaces near the nose that you can look through. The back of the eyes is blacked out so that you don't get blinded. When the head is tilted backward the helmet opens and the lights go out. When I nod forward the helmet closes and the lights flicker back on.

How do I upload larger images? If anyone can let me know how to accomplish that I'll give it a shot.

Does the album have a size limit?

Anyway, upload to a site like photobucket, then use [img]your-photo-url to post it in a thread.

I like postimage.org/.
