Covenant's Hair

I know TC was obsessed at one time about altering his appearence in the Land so that when he woke up on earth he would have proof that the land was a dream. He ended up shaving his beard, but there's no mention of him cutting his hair. Now, I'm practically bald, and even I would notice substantial hair growth in a two month period of time. So, was Covenant's hair like 2 inches longer when he woke up, or did he just not notice the obvious difference?

I guess he just didn't give a crap. He's ornery that way. Beards? Oh yeah. His hair? Nah.

I also wonder about fingernails and toenails. Covenant was in the Land like 45 days the first time, and about 35 days the second time. Surely they grew quite a bit. I doubt he cut them off with his penknife.....

I don't know about the hair, but I'll bet his first post-Land VSE went something like this:

Perhaps the reason why Donaldson didn't focus on toenails and such was because he didn't want to end up writing The Gross Functions Of Thomas Covenant, The Anatomically Curious Leper.

I was getting to that point. No they don't mention any haircuts, or nail trimmings.
But neither does anyone mention Anyone ever having any other body functions.
Even if the food in the Land were Hyper-Metabolizing. Then IN the 2nd Chron. there would have been food that was corrupted and remains to be excreted.

But if not I pity Bannor the most, imagine not sleeping for over 2000 years, Ok.
But to not go #1 &#2 for that time, owwww !!!

I only mentioned the hair originally because TC focussed on his beard. I guess I got carried away when I mentioned the nails...

I am in total agreement with CovJr.

However, like in movies, no one ever goes to the bathroom. I guess we just take it for granted that it happens.
