Screaming Bunnies (informally known as TSB) was a band formed in the early 1980s somewhere near Tampa, Florida U.S.A.
The band's original lineup was comprised entirely of sacked members of much more successful New Wave and Punk groups that performed in neighboring Lutz, Florida. The band adopted the odd notion of naming themselves after characters appearing in popular animated films and television. Their real names are still unknown to this day.

Donald Duck - Bass guitar
Atom Ant - Guitar / Vocals
Johnny Quest - Drums / Backing Vocals

Donald Duck originally formed the band after being kicked out of the popular New Wave/Ska band Thunderbergs due to his penchant for sucker punching his band-mates in the face as they emerged from public restrooms and for his out of control abuse of model airplane glue. Though Donald was a gifted bass player he was rejected by no less than 27 bands in less than 3 days after his falling out with the Thunderbergs. Donald fell into a deep depression but after months of reflection and painful glue withdrawal, Donald was determined to form a new band that suited his peculiar tastes in music and off stage behavior. While attending a lecture on quantum mechanics Donald ran into Atom Ant, whom he had met previously while trying out for the punk band Chin Chum weeks earlier. Atom had been ousted after it was learned that he was not actually a punk and had been a life long fan of the Canadian progressive rock band RUSH. Atom agreed to join Donald's, as yet unnamed band, in exchange for half a cigarette and three Eddie Van Halen guitar picks. The final piece needed was a drummer and thankfully Atom knew of a local drummer named Johnny Quest whom Atom befriended during his time spent in a south Georgia prison. Johnny had recently been fired from the renowned southern jazz band Epicat that had been performing at a nearby Holiday Inn. While on stage Johnny had accidentally set his drum set on fire when he attempted to tie his shoes with an empty vodka bottle. The resulting damage bankrupted the band and left Johnny looking for work. When Donald and Atom approached Johnny with the offer, he immediately agreed to join the Bunnies.

The band's first and only recording "Tepid Girlfriend" was an unremarkable collection of disjointed and unfocused songs based on the 1924 silent film "She Isn't Here". Screaming Bunnies never found an audience and a month after the release of Tepid Girlfriend the band disbanded to the relief of everyone reading this post.

In the months following the band's breakup, Donald and Atom tried to reform the band as Boneless Opera which turned out to be a total disaster culminating in the arrest and re-imprisonment of Atom for the next 15 years.

globes of red and white and green
songs that make your skinletts sheen
sandwich slices full of gel
may produce a pungent smell

malnutrition, taste of cake
banshee walkers freely make
showered gifts from lonely freaks
forever make me barf in sinks

red tyde and golden sun
burn the idiot, free of fun
red tyde and boogers too
sing of garbage, gifts for you

piglet wanders round the bend
soaring stinkers gentle ben
halfwit talkers dance with care
suspend the walker's tangled hair

steaming piles of liquid goo
make me lie then make it true
fourteen fingers on my hand
powdered coffee for the band

red tyde and golden sun
burn the idiots, free of fun
red tyde and boogers too
sing of garbage, gifts for you

I'm unlocking this thread to give Tom a chance to tell the truth.
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise

TIME'S UP.

Here's how I remember it:

It was 1987, and our band wasn't doing anything. Our drummer, Aaron wasn't available to practice, but his brother, the guy who started the band in the first place, wanted to jam with us, for old time's sake. He sang and may have played keys, Tom drummed, and I played guitar.
Later on I made front & back cd covers for it.

Tom has the mp3's; maybe he'll post them.

Why'd you have to go and add reality to this topic? :-)

One of my favorite movies is "This Is Spinal Tap". This thread has more to do with a continuation of my fictitious biography of the band "No" than anything resembling real people and events. I seem to remember the "No" biography was included in an early draft of "Flower of Doom" and may reside here somewhere though I have no idea where or how to look for such a thing.

In any case, in reality, the Screaming Bunnies were the thing dAN describes but it wasn't very interesting. I just borrowed the name since it didn't amount to much in reality. Next time I'll use "Hand Over Fist" or "Channel 101".

I just don't understand why you'd lie about Screaming Bunnies when you could just tell the true story of The Boneless Opera? SHIT, THAT WAS ONE WILD BAND!

Is there a true story about Boneless Opera?

I think Flying Fortress was WAY wilder.
I mean, the legendary Kevin Marks playing bass? Forget about it. That's asylum level crazy!

BTW I listened to the Screaming Bunnies recordings and I have judged them unfit to be shared with others for fear that the sounds may cause serious emotional and psychological damage to the listener.
