In keeping with the spirit of the first Ant Man (as well as Thor: Ragnarok), this movie is more lighthearted than other recent Marvel movies (Black Panther, Infinity War, etc). This works well, though, because the primary actors are able to deliver their lines with humor and good timing. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly have good on-screen chemistry.
For as interesting a character as Ghost is, she is not really central to the plot--she is more like a human McGuffin, a device to move the plot along when it needs it. Of course, given what we know of Marvel history so far we have to question for whom she was really working in recent years. Anyway, all of the main action and plot is the interaction of the main three characters--Scott hasn't been in touch with either Hope or Hank since he got released from The Island and placed under house arrest after the events of Civil War.
The daughter, Cassie, is not a forgotten character. Incidentally, Ant Man is only the second Marvel character/Avenger who has children, Hawkeye being the other one.
Randall Park's FBI Agent Woo isn't terribly believable--a little too much humor for a guy who should be strictly "by the books". Mr Pena's Luis is still pretty funny, though--he really knows how to deliver his lines.
Michelle Pfieffer as Janet van Dyne, the original Wasp....hrm....she still has it.
Anyway....if you want something a little more fun than Infinity War or you like MCU movies then go see it.
