Death By Marvel

Post by Cagliostro »

THIS

No. Just no. I did the Lord of the Rings trilogy when the third movie came out. The first two were the Extended Editions and the third was the theatrical release (as they hadn't put together the Extended Edition yet). It was definitely a numb-butt-a-thon, and that was just one full day. Of course they were the old uncomfortable seats, and seat technology has gotten worlds better, but...yeah, seriously. 59 hours? I really don't think so. Looks like the one theater I found a price on was $135.

As insane as this sounds this the one series of films I would at least consider losing sleep for.
Do I have the endurance to actually make it through the whole thing?
Probably not.

I did that at some small theater in Boston. The third movie was supposed to be the Extended Edition, but there was a mixup. So it was only 11 hours instead of 12, or something like that. Anyway ... you're butt really does get numb.

So: no.

I love this πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I love a marathon of movies that I love. And like Tom I would consider it.

One of my fave annual events is to watch all the LOTRs movies EXTENDED versions .. yes we cant do it in one sitting πŸ˜‰ Takes about a week of evenings πŸ˜‰

I havent done a movie marathon at a cinema for more than a decade .. or more.

But yeah back to back in a cinema for 59hrs might even be too much for me πŸ˜” but that makes me sad.

How cool though. Ill by them and watch them on DVD once a year, by myself over a few weeks.

Sadly my hubby aint in to comic book super heros πŸ₯Ί

Ooof. That's is a lot of Marvel film. A theater full of people for that long would probably develop a new culture by the time it was over. It sounds fun, but probably best to pace it out at home instead.

That's intense. I wouldn't mind seeing at least a couple of them again on the big screen, but no thanks on a 3-day marathon. Doesn't look like my local Alamo Drafthouse is doing it anyway.

Some of those movies are really good but this is a "hard pass" from me.
The Tank is gone and now so am I.
